How to cure vampirism in Skyrim? Pros and cons of vampirism in the game Skyrim How to cure a vampire in Skyrim

If you were a vampire in Skyrim for a couple of days and didn’t like it, then, if you wish, you can always get rid of this disease. Moreover, if you play as a character for whom vampirism is not at all good, for example an orc with a two-handed sword, then getting rid of this disease will be just happiness for you.

How to get rid of vampire disease in Skyrim

To be cured of vampirism in Skyrim, we need to perform a small series of actions, after which we can calmly walk in the sun. So what do we need:

  1. We study the spell “Soul Capture” or find a weapon with this ability.
  2. We go to the small settlement of Falkreath and find the most popular bar in that area, “Dead Honey”. We approach the character, whose name is Volga Vinicia, and question her until she tells you that a certain Folion, who lives in Morthal, was studying the disease “Vampirism”. This will be the key to the vampirism we need.
  3. After which, accordingly, we go to Morthal and look for Folion there. We learn from him that if we want to be cured of vampirism, we need a ritual with a black stone that is completely filled with souls. This stone can also be purchased from Folion himself; the price, in this case, will depend on the level of your eloquence.
  4. After receiving the necessary tool, we need to fill the soul stone. To do this, we travel and kill various robbers, thieves and capture their souls using weapons or a special spell.
  5. After filling the stone, we should return to the Folian and perform the ritual we need.

Opens up a million different possibilities for Dovahkiin. Here you can get married, become the ruler of the city, take part in a civil war, fight with, go to other worlds, and also become a werewolf or a vampire! I'll talk about Lycanthropy (the ability to take the form of a beast) in another article, so let's talk about bloodsuckers. And in this guide we will look at how to become a vampire and how to recover from vampirism, we will learn the pros and cons of this condition and how it affects the world. You may not know, but there is a whole major expansion about vampires called The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard. Let's get started!

How to become a vampire in Skyrim

Tired of playing for one of the “standard” races of the game? Do you want to complicate your task and get more thrilling experiences? Get powerful skills and abilities and start drinking blood? Then why not become a vampire! This process will take some time, but at the end of the transformation your appearance will completely change, new talents and passive skills will appear, and previously peaceful NPCs will begin to fear you.

Important! Before becoming a vampire, I advise you to make a separate save. Yes, vampires are much more powerful than the intelligent races of Tamriel, but they also have a lot of disadvantages that will make the game more difficult for you. You can recover from vampirism, but this is a long and difficult process, so it is better to make a separate save so that if something happens, you can “roll back” to it.

The game has several ways you can become a vampire. Both “legal” and with the help of . I want to immediately warn you that it is much easier to contract vampirism than to recover from it, so be careful.

Encounter another vampire in combat

If you do not take into account the Dawnguard add-on, then aggressive bloodsuckers can be encountered during your travels. You'll find vampires in places like Movarth's Lair, the Bloody Throne, Heimar's Cave, Fellglow Keep, and Brokenfang Cave. The easiest place is Movart's Lair, which is located near Morthal. Here you will find low-level opponents, so it will be easier to catch vampirism. To get to the desired location, just take a cart (or fast travel) to Morthal and walk northeast.

You won’t meet vampires right away; first you will need to deal with the frosty spiders and robbers at the entrance. Kill the enemies and move inside the cave, collecting tasty loot along the way. At the end of the dungeon you will see a large room with a dining table, at which two bloodsuckers are sitting.

They are exactly what we need! Make a save, prepare more healing potions, food and spells from the school of restoration. Now draw their attention to you and get ready to be treated. You need the vampires to use the Drain Life spell on you. While casting the spell, Dovahkiin has a chance to contract the disease “Sanguinare Vampiris”, which will turn you into a vampire.

When you notice a notification that the disease has appeared, you can safely kill your opponents. Information about the disease can be found in the “Magic” menu in passive skills. You have another 72 in-game hours to change your mind and cure your vampirism. To do this, you need to visit the Altar of the Nine or drink a potion of healing diseases.

If you did not get this disease, then move away from the vampires, restore your health and try again until you succeed. You can repeat it as many times as you like.

After 72 hours, your character becomes a “first phase” vampire and immediately has a number of passive skills:

  • Weakness in the sun- while under the sun's rays, your maximum magicka, health and stamina will decrease, and your regeneration rate will decrease by 100%. In addition, there will be visual changes - the skin will begin to char.
  • Disease resistance- vampires are very tenacious, so now you don’t have to be afraid of catching some kind of infection. Dovahkiin gains 100% resistance to diseases.
  • Poison Resistance- 100% resistant to all poisons and poisonings.
  • Footsteps of a night predator- when you sneak, you are 25% more difficult to detect.
  • Herald of the night- your spells from the Illusion school are now 25% more effective.

These effects apply to all stages of vampires, which we will learn about later.

Use the in-game console

Attention! This method is only available on PC. On game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, etc.) cheat codes are not available, if you play on one of the above platforms, you can immediately skip this point.

If you don't want to look for vampires, or you can't catch the disease you want, you may have encountered a bug. In this case, a cheat code for vampirism will help you. How to use it?

  • Press Y (~) on your keyboard to open the console menu. All actions in the game will be paused at the moment.
  • Switch the language to English (more details can be found in).
  • Enter the command player.setrace Xracevampire, in which X should be replaced with the race of your hero. Race must be indicated in English. If you are playing as a Nord, the command will look like this: player.setrace nordracevampire. And if you play as a Khajiit, then player.setrace khajitracevampire.
  • Press Enter.

Immediately after this you will become a first stage vampire. You will have all the basic abilities, the active skill “Vampire Vision” and all the above passive talents.

Drink liquid from the red spring

For the third method, you will definitely need The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard add-on. And in it you can become not just a vampire, but a vampire lord! In addition to the usual abilities, Dovahkiin will also receive a unique vampire skill tree, the ability to change shape, and much more.

To become a vampire in the expansion, you need to complete several story missions, get to the Red Water Lair and drink a strange liquid from the Red Spring. As you progress, you will meet Serana, a young Nordic vampire girl, whom you can even marry later. Having the add-on and becoming a vampire lord will give you many advantages that are missing in the original game:

  • Passive skills for resistance to cold and vulnerability to fire have been changed to +20% / +30% / +40% / +50%.
  • The “Vampire Seduction” ability will now allow you to bite not only sleeping victims, but also waking victims.
  • At the last stage of vampirism, the NPCs' phrases will change. Now you will often hear comments like “Your skin is white as snow, are you afraid of the sun or what?” or “I don’t like your eyes. There’s a strange coldness about them.” But no one will attack you, which will make life much easier. You will be able to move freely around cities and feed on blood even during the day. But in a transformed form it is better not to appear in front of the peasants. They won't understand.
  • The appearance will also change. All women and Nordic men's eyes became bright red, while those of other races became golden. Scars appeared near the mouth, and the faces themselves became more frightening.

Stages of vampirism. Pros and cons of being a vampire

As mentioned above, Dovahkiin will not immediately become a full-fledged vampire. Once you receive the Sanguinare Vampirus disease and wait 72 in-game hours, you will become a stage 1 vampire. How does the first stage differ from the next ones and what abilities will you receive? Now we will analyze this.

The first stage of vampirism

So, you have taken the path of a vampire. The townspeople are no longer afraid of you, but you no longer love the sun. In addition to the above passive skills (resistance to poisons, diseases, strengthening of Illusion spells, etc.), you will also receive permanent effects:

  • Cold Resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 20%
  • Weakness to fire- fire damage taken increased by 20%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magic and stamina reserves reduced by 15.

In addition to permanent effects, the Dragonborn will also have a number of new active skills:

  • Servant of the Vampire - the ability to raise a weak corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight on your side. Can be used 1 time per day.
  • Life Drain is the very ability that made you sick. The spell allows you to drain 2 units of life per second from the selected target. This magic belongs to the school of “Destruction”, level “Beginner”.
  • Vampire's gaze - the ability to see in the dark. The spell lasts 60 seconds and can be used once a day.

Second stage of vampirism

The permanent effects remain the same, but their rates increase significantly:

  • Cold Resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 30%
  • Weakness to fire- fire damage taken increased by 30%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magic and stamina reserves reduced by 30 (halved!).

Active abilities have become even stronger, and a new and very important skill has been added:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a stronger corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight on your side. Can be used 1 time per day.
  • Life Drain- The spell allows you to drain 3 units of life per second from the selected target. This is quite an increase, to be honest. But it will get better. Spells remain the same for Beginners.
  • Seduction- the spell calms representatives of intelligent races and creatures up to level 10. Action time is 30 seconds. A very useful spell that will help you out many times.

Third stage of vampirism

The permanent effects remain the same, but the percentage continues to increase:

  • Cold Resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 40%
  • Weakness to fire- fire damage taken increased by 40%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magic and stamina reserves have been reduced by 45 units.

Similarly with active effects:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a strong corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight on your side. Can be used 1 time per day. Now the meaning of using this spell appears. Personally, this servant has helped me out many times.
  • Life Drain- The spell allows you to drain 4 units of life per second from the selected target. Compared to the first level, the “damage” of the spell has already doubled. At the fourth level of vampirism it will be even better!

The fourth and final stage of vampirism

Unfortunately, the last stage of vampirism will not please us with new passive skills:

  • Cold Resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 50%
  • Weakness to fire- fire damage taken increased by 50%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magic and stamina reserves reduced by 60 units. With such a debuff, it’s better not to go out during the day, brr.

And here is a new active skill, and what a one! Perfect for thieves, lovers of burglary and pickpocketing, and will also save you from any trouble:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a very strong corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight on your side. Can be used 1 time per day. Now you will be the threat of all giants, bears and frosty spiders!
  • Life Drain- The spell allows you to drain 5 units of life per second from the selected target. Still not a fan of this spell, but with this damage output it can already be useful against enemies who are easy to keep at a distance.
  • Embrace of Shadows— the ability to become invisible and turn on night vision for 3 minutes. Used only 1 time per day. A very useful spell that will help you out of any situation.

So you have reached the maximum stage of vampirism. Unfortunately, in addition to the useful passive effects and powerful spells, you will also experience some disadvantages of this position.

All characters and NPCs will treat you with hostility, since now you are a full-fledged vampire with the appropriate appearance. You will be attacked by ALL characters in the game. This can be corrected by getting a little blood. Quenching your thirst will reduce your lifesteal level to level 1 (all effects and spells will also change). You can only drink blood in stealth mode. If you do not have the add-on installed, then only for sleeping characters. And if installed, then the mechanics are the same as with pocket guards. Sneak up in stealth mode and press the appropriate button.

How to cure vampirism

Dovahkiin can regain his previous appearance even at the last stage of turning into a vampire. What is needed for that?

  • Complete Falion's quest “Rising at Dawn”. The quest can only be completed once per game, so don’t just waste it.
  • Complete the storyline of the Companions task and become a werewolf. Vampirism will be “overwritten” by a new disease. You will no longer be a vampire, but you will become a lycanthrope.
  • Use the console command player.removespell 000B8780. This command will completely remove vampirism from Dovahkiin.

Vampirism provides both many pros and cons. Think carefully before choosing the fate of a bloodsucker. See you in the next guide!

The world of the Skyrim game has given players a lot of new opportunities. You can get married, raise children, arrange your home, run a household and, of course, get sick. Today we will talk about a disease that you can “catch” in one of the add-ons to the game.

How to become a vampire

Of course, in order to be cured of vampirism, you first need to become infected with it. This, of course, can be done by “talking” with the vampire. If he uses a certain skill during your battle, you will be infected with the Sanguinare Vampiris disease.

After this, the infection will begin to spread throughout the character’s body. You will be given only 72 hours to get rid of it. After this, the character will become a vampire. Whether this is good or bad is up to you to decide.

Once you become a vampire, a whole tree of vampire skills will open to you. They, of course, can and even need to be pumped up if your plans do not include being in vampire form. You need to know that there are several stages of vampirism, at each of which the attitude of others towards your “person” changes, the appearance changes, and new abilities appear. The player “jumps” from stage to stage every 24 hours, provided that you do not quench the vampire’s thirst for blood.

Until I became a vampire

Undoubtedly, if “becoming a vampire” was not in your plans, then the question of playing is quite normal. Naturally, there are several ways to implement this idea. The first and most seemingly simple one is healing before becoming a vampire using a special altar.

In order to answer the question on Skyrim: “How to cure vampirism in the altar?”, first you need to know what the altar is and where it is located. After infection, you need to hurry up and get to Whiterun.

There is an altar near a tree in the square. By activating it, you will be able to prevent the process of infecting your character with vampirism.

Unfortunately, this method is only relevant if you have not yet experienced the effects of the first stage of becoming a vampire. If your character arrives in Whiterun with red eyes and fangs, you can forget about this healing method. So try to fight more carefully so as not to get infected.

I don't want to be a vampire!

The second way to help answer the question of how to cure vampirism in the game Skyrim is a special quest. But in this case, you need to know that you will exchange one disease for another. A fairly “legal” way to get rid of vampirism is to join the ranks of werewolves.

Once you have reached at least the first stage of becoming a vampire, begin the quest "The Silver Hand". During it, you will have the opportunity to join the ranks of the Companions and become a werewolf. In this case, the character will no longer be a vampire, even if he is infected with lycontropy again. Remember that this method is relevant until the inhabitants of the game begin to rush at you with their fists with strange force. In this case, another method will suit you, which we will talk about now.

Last stage

As we said earlier, vampirism has several stages. Until some time, you can calmly wander around the cities and the world of Skyrim in principle. But, if the thirst for blood is not quenched, then sooner or later (or rather, after 3 days) you will reach the last, 4th stage of the disease. At this moment, the character's appearance will change radically, and all the inhabitants of the fairy-tale world will begin to attack you. This is how cruel Skyrim is. How to cure vampirism at stage 4?

In order to do this, you will need to complete the quest and fork out a fair amount. That's the price you pay for being a vampire. No, this is not a quest for a werewolf - even if you have a great desire to become one, then until you are cured of your previous illness, your idea will face a huge failure. So, what to do if you have become a stage 4 vampire and want to get rid of this disease?

You need to proceed to Falkreath and find the Deadman's Honey tavern. There, talk to the owner about the rumors. She will tell you that one person is studying vampires. After this, the quest "Rising at Dawn" will begin.

We talk with Falion, who studies vampires. You will learn from him that you need a black soul stone. It costs 112 gold. Afterwards, buy a book from the man for catching souls. Now go on a soul hunt at Fort Snowhawk. Find a necromancer there and use the purchased skill. Next, return to Falion and follow his instructions (he will tell you that you need to meet in the forest at dawn). Complete the quest with morning conversation. That's all.

What if I'm lazy?

Of course, you don’t have to do any quests to prevent lycanthropy from affecting your character. The method for the “lazy”, which is in Skyrim, will give its answer. How to cure vampirism? The console will help you. Of course, this will not be as fun and exciting a process as completing quests and playing catch-up with brutal city residents, but no less useful.

So, in order to rid yourself of lycontropy in Skyrim without quests and altars, call the console. Enter there: player.removespell 000B8780. After this, the character will be healed. You can also enter: setstage 000EAFD5 10, but this must be done very carefully, because this command only works once (completes the quest to cure vampirism).

Second try

So, let's assume that you have already done a quest to cure lycontropy and have again become infected with vampirism in Skyrim. How to recover from vampirism a second time? Of course, if you have not yet received the first stage, hurry to the altar. If your character has already become a vampire of at least stage 1, then the console will come to your aid.

Save your game. Don't use quick save. After this, enter in the console: resetquest 000EAFD5, then create a new save. Download it. Now open the console again and enter: setstage 000EAFD5 10. That's all.

So, today we talked about the game "Skyrim", how to recover from vampirism and about who the vampires are in this game. Good luck to your character!

Vampirism in the game Skyrim is a disease that directly precedes the transformation into a vampire. It can be contracted in battles with enemies when they use the Drain Life skill. After this, “Sanguinare Vampiris” will be displayed in active effects for 72 hours. Guess how to cure vampirism in Skyrim, not difficult.

In the initial stages of the development of the disease, it is enough to pray at any of the nine altars or drink a potion for healing diseases. Altars can be found in major cities and sometimes outside of them. The most accessible of them is located near the great tree in Whiterun and is dedicated to Talos. Potions can be crafted or purchased from Alchemists, but sometimes they can also be found in dungeons.

How to cure vampirism with quests?

Can cure vampirism in the game Skyrim using cheats in specially designed quests. First of all, you should pay attention to the Companions and their line of tasks, which will lead the main character to a shocking discovery. It turns out that Skyrim is inhabited not only by vampires, but also by lycanthropes, that is, werewolves, also known as werewolves. The head of the Companions will offer Dovahkiin to undergo a ritual of transformation, which will replace one disease with another. It is worth noting that both hypostases have their own strengths and weaknesses, and such a replacement itself can be carried out only once.

The second saving thread for inattentive players is Falion’s quest “Rising at Dawn”. It becomes available only after infection. One of the innkeepers in Skyrim will notice oddities in the appearance of Dovahkiin and, as if by chance, tell him about the magician Falion, who studies vampires. The sorcerer can be found in Morthal and visit his residence during the day. In return for his service, the sorcerer will ask for a filled Black Soul Stone, as a result of which he will have to kill a representative of an intelligent race (a civilian or a bandit, as well as a Dremora). After this, a meeting will be scheduled at a special place on the map, where the ritual will be performed in the circle of the altar.

Mods for Skyrim on the website:

How to cure vampirism with a code?

There is a special code to cure vampirism in Skyrim. Or rather, even two codes that have different mechanisms of action. After calling the console with the Russian letter “Ё”, you must enter setstage 000EAFD5 10. This command duplicates the result of completing the Morthal quest, and therefore will only work once if the task has not yet been completed. Thus, the quest is, as it were, transferred to the completed status. Another code that allows you to get rid of vampirism in the beginning is player.removespell 000B8780. It removes the effect of Sanguinare Vampiris itself, but will not help in the later stages of the disease.

Curing vampirism with save manipulations in Skyrim

If none of the above methods helped or you are irreversibly infected a second time, there is one last effective method that requires care and time, but works flawlessly. You must save the game manually through the menu in a new slot, and not with the F5 button (quick save). Then enter resetquest 000EAFD5 in the console and create a new full save. Then you need to exit the game, re-enter and load the last save, open the console again and type setstage 000EAFD5 10. You should be careful with such manipulations and just check the active effects from time to time so as not to get sick.

2. In the city of Falkreath, go to the Dead Honey tavern and ask the barmaid there about the rumors several times, and she will tell you that a certain Falion from Morthal studies vampires and knows a lot on this topic, you will automatically receive the quest. After that, go to the village of Morthal, and there is Falion’s house near the river, go to him after 4 days, otherwise he will drive you away! He tells you that you need a black soul stone, you can buy the stone from him or find it. To fill the soul stone you need the “Soul Capture” spell, you can buy it in Dragonsreach in Whiterun from the court magician (To fill the soul stone you need to cast a spell on the target and then kill it). I warn you, if you have a lot of unfilled soul stones in your inventory, the spell works randomly!) . He sends you to the swamp at dawn (dawn starts at 5 am). Talk to him, then wait until he completes the ritual. (this is the case if you are a stage 4 vampire).

Well, if you don’t want to lose the vampire’s magic, then just bite people at night when they are sleeping, your thirst will be quenched and people won’t rush at you shouting like: “Burn the vampire!”

How to cure Vampirism
You can be cured by getting another disease - Lycanthropy. Once you become a Werewolf, you can complete the healing quest
Second way
To do this, you need to be a vampire in stage four... when ordinary villagers will start attacking you for no reason from time to time. But that's the price.
- So. We go to the city of Falkreath, find the Dead Man's Drink tavern.
– We talk with the owner – Valga (Valga Vinicia). Ask her if she has heard any rumors. She will tell you about Falion, a man who studies vampires. This will give you the Rising At Dawn quest.
– We go to the city of Morthal.
– We find Falion’s house and ask him about vampirism.
- We say that you need medicine.
– We talk to him a second time, we say that we need a stone of the black soul (costs 112 gold – with a pumped-up conversation)
– We talk to Falion again and see what else he has for sale. You need to buy the Soul Trap spell book.
– Equip spell.
“Now we need to catch the soul in stone.” We go to Fort Snowhawk - a little west of Mortal.
– We go to the fort while killing skeletons – DO NOT use the Soul Trap spell yet.
– We find a necromancer and use a spell against him.
– We go to the inventory and in the Misc section we check the black soul stone (Black Soul Gem), it should be filled and its name will change to Black Soul Gem (Grand).
– We return to Falion’s house.
- We say that we filled the stone
“He replies that he needs to be met in the summoning circle at dawn.”
– We go to the circle (located in the northwest) in the forest.
– We wait until 2-4 in the morning.
- There may be a bug here, so we leave the circle and go to the river, there is a small island with a crab. Kill the crab, otherwise Falion will see it and... that's it. The quest will be impossible to complete.
– We wait a little more until Falion appears and talk to him.
-You are no longer a Vampire.
Third Method. Not verified yet
We go to Whiterun to the square with a large tree in a circle of water. In the northeastern part of this square there is a statue of a warrior finishing off a dragon. If you look, there is a Shrine of Talos at his feet. Click on it and it cures all diseases. Including Vampirism.
You can also use the potion to treat diseases.

How to cure vampirism in Skyrim?
There are three ways to get rid of vampirism.
1. You can become a werewolf by joining the ranks of the Companions. This opportunity will be presented during the quest "Silver Hand". When you become a werewolf, you cease to be a vampire.
I warn you, if you have a lot of unfilled soul stones in your inventory, the spell works randomly!). He sends you to the swamp at dawn (dawn starts at 5 am). Talk to him, then wait until he completes the ritual. (this is the case if you are a stage 4 vampire).
3. If you became infected quite recently, you can be cured at the altar.
Well, if you don’t want to lose the vampire’s magic, then just bite people at night when they are sleeping, your thirst will be quenched and people won’t rush at you shouting like: “Burn the vampire!”
