Call forwarding service. How to forward from a specific number to another excluding others

Smartphone users are sometimes faced with the need to set up call forwarding to a specific number. There are several options when this may come in handy:

  • You change your phone number and for some time he needs to redirect calls from the old number to the new one;
  • You are outside the coverage area of one operator, but you have access to communication through another;
  • You went on a business trip, took your corporate phone with you, but forgot yours at home;
  • You have lost your phone.

In each of these cases, you will stay in touch if you know how to set call forwarding on your phone. You can redirect incoming calls yourself, through your phone settings, or use the service provided by cellular operators.

By the way, if you want to know how to find a lost Android phone, you can read about it in our material.

Self-configuring call forwarding

The easiest way to forward calls to a specific mobile number is to use the settings in your phone. Let's look at the step-by-step actions using the sixth version of Android as an example:

  • Go to your smartphone settings;
  • Click on the Phone icon;
  • In the upper right corner, click on the drop-down menu;
  • Go to contact settings;
  • Select SIM settings and your operator;
  • Click on “Call Forwarding”.

In this menu, 4 items will be available to you. First of all, we enable the forwarding function. Next, you need to specify the number to which calls will be redirected in three cases:

  • The number is busy;
  • No answer;
  • The number is unavailable.

Please ensure that the number to which you will direct calls is up-to-date and can always be accessed.

Mobile operator services

Now let's move on to how to set up forwarding to a specific number through a mobile operator. Every cellular service provider has an incoming call forwarding service. The service is connected using approximately the same template, but the cost and additional conditions may vary.

If you don’t want to tinker with your phone settings, you can use the “Forwarding” service, which is provided by cellular operators Beeline, MTS, Megafon and Tele2. Connecting the service to all operators follows the same scheme. Only the cost of the service will differ.

To find out how to forward to a specific number through technical support, dial the number:

  • Beeline 8-495-974-88-88
  • MTS 8-800-250-0890

Also, with Beeline and MTS, the forwarding service can be activated and configured in your personal account on the official website.

For example, let's look at how to set up redirection through your Beeline personal account:

  1. Go to the website http://my.beeline.ru/
  2. Find the forwarding service in the list of services or through the search
  3. Click on the "Connect" button

Here you can fine-tune the operation of the service in case the number does not answer, is busy or is unavailable.

All Big Four mobile operators use special USSD commands to connect and manage the forwarding service

  • Service activation: *110*031# call
  • Redirect all incoming calls: **21*phone number# call
  • If the number does not answer: **61*phone number**time# call. The time after which the call will be redirected must be specified in seconds, for example, 10, 20 or 30.
  • If the number is busy: **67*phone number# call.
  • If the number is unavailable: **62*phone number# call.

To disable the service, dial the command ##002# call. There are also several commands to disable certain functions of the service:

  • Cancel forwarding of all calls - ##21#
  • Cancel forwarding of missed calls - ##61#
  • Cancel forwarding to a busy number - ##67#
  • Cancel forwarding to an unavailable number - ##62#

By the way, Tele2 also has an SMS redirection service. True, it does not operate in all regions of Russia. To activate the text message forwarding service, you need to dial the command *286*1*phone number in the format +7-ХХХ-ХХХ-ХХ-ХХ# and press call.

Using the call redirection service for each operator will differ only in the cost of connection and use.

Beeline: free connection, no subscription fee, call transfer to Beeline number is free. If an incoming call is transferred to another operator's number, to a landline phone or to a roaming number, payment is calculated according to the tariff.

MTS: free connection, subscription fee - 0 rubles. The cost of a forwarded call depends on the tariff plan.

Megafon: no connection or use fees. For transferring a call to mobile and landline numbers, the operator will charge 2.5 rubles per minute of conversation. Other calls are calculated according to the tariff.

Tele2: Free connection and use. Each forwarded call is charged according to the tariff.

The MTS operator has a specialized function that will help you receive calls from any other number, even from a landline phone. This service is called call forwarding.

This material has been prepared to familiarize all MTS subscribers with the basic capabilities of the service, its configuration, connection and disconnection from the user number.

Call forwarding MTS

Call forwarding to MTS is a service provided by Mobile Telesystems, which allows you to configure call routing from the main number to any other.

How it works?

Subscriber No. 1 makes a call using any available means of communication from any city or point on the globe; when the option is enabled, subscriber No. 2 will be redirected to another number entered during setup. This can be a home phone number, a mobile number of a Russian or foreign operator.

Who is it suitable for?

Anyone can use call forwarding, regardless of which number is active.

Modern realities are such that it is extremely difficult to get by with just one number from a specific mobile operator. To rationally use phone resources and to ensure that callers are always in an accessible status, you can enable call forwarding.

For example, if you have two phones, you will always be in touch, even if one of them has a low battery, fails due to technical reasons, or gets lost. This is especially convenient when traveling, when you always need to have feedback with your family and friends.

Forwarding format

There are several main types of call forwarding:

  • All the challenges. All incoming calls that will be received by the servers of the MTS operator will be processed and sent to another number in the “Auto” mode.
  • Number unavailable. If the subscriber is in a place where the network signal is weak or completely absent, redirection will be triggered.
  • The number is busy. In some ways, this view can be called a “multi-channel” option. If the subscriber is busy talking and another incoming call arrives at this time, it will be redirected to the second number.
  • No response within a certain time. If up to 30 seconds pass when making a call, you can enable call forwarding. Moreover, the operator provided the possibility of fine tuning at intervals of 5 seconds.

Important information: when traveling abroad, we recommend checking with your operator the cost of calling call forwarding, since both incoming and outgoing calls will cost twice the standard price of 1 minute.

How to connect

After a detailed analysis, instructions were prepared that allow you to connect call forwarding to MTS in several ways:

USSD command

  • Using simple combinations, you can activate the desired forwarding on your number (depending on the type).
  • To enable full redirection from the MTS SIM card, enter the command **21*number_where_redirection will be_performed# and the call button. For example: **21*79785557788#.
  • For incoming calls during a conversation - **67*number#.
  • During the period of subscriber unavailability - **62*number#.
  • If you do not answer within 5-30 seconds - **61*number*time_until_30#.

Attention: the number is indicated with the international code of the mobile operator. This rule applies even to intranet redirects using USSD combinations.

Official site

If you have a personal computer or tablet, we recommend using a more convenient and practical method.

Instructions:

  • Open your browser and go to, which is available at: mts.ru
  • In the upper right corner, click on the “Login” - “Mobile communications” button and log in to the “ ” service using your phone number and password.
  • Go to the “Number Management” section and click on the “Call Forwarding” item.
  • Click on the “Add new forwarding condition” button.
  • Choose from the available options the one that best suits your requirements. Enter the number in ten-digit format for forwarding.
  • Click “Apply”. All settings take effect from the moment they are saved.

Helpful information: MTS’s personal account opens up a lot of possibilities, for example, you can fine-tune the routing of incoming calls with different conditions only in this way.

Application "My MTS"

Instructions:

  • To set up forwarding, open “My MTS”.
  • Go to the menu and click on “Services”.
  • Go to the "Available" tab.
  • In Call & SMS Management, find Call Forwarding.
  • Follow the prompts to enable and activate the service.

Activation of forwarding by calling the technical support service of subscribers is paid. The cost of connecting in this way is 30 rubles.

How to disable

Disabling redirects can be done using similar instructions using several methods. Tested and working are special commands executed from the phone, personal account, application and assistance from a company employee.

USSD combinations

  • Complete shutdown ##21#
  • If the subscriber is busy - ##67#
  • No response for 5-30 seconds - ##61#
  • When out of range - ##62#

Attention: Completing a USSD command or completing a request is always activated by pressing the Call button. General reset with one code - ##002#.

In your personal account

Go to the official website, go to Settings > Call Forwarding. You will see information about all enabled redirects on your number. Opposite the desired condition, click the “Disable” button.

In the mobile application

Open “ ”, select the “Active” tab in the “Services” menu and find forwarding there. Opposite it, move the switch in the opposite direction with your finger. The application will notify you of successful completion of using the option with a prompt on the screen.

Using customer support

And wait for a response from the contact center specialist. Indicate your intention to disable the call forwarding feature. To identify the owner of the number, a company employee has the right to request registration passport data.

Call forwarding from your mobile number can help in many cases. Eg:

  • you forgot your phone at home, but at work you need to receive calls;
  • you are in a place where your operator’s network does not work, but others do;
  • when moving from one number to another, you want to temporarily set up call forwarding from the old number to the new one.

Redirection can be set up in two ways:

  • through the phone menu or using special codes;
  • by contacting your operator - through the subscriber service or personal account.

How to forward to another number

The easiest way to enable call forwarding is through your phone settings. All phones and operating systems have a different path in the settings, let’s look at the most popular ones:

Enable forwarding on iOS– go to “Settings” -> “Phone” -> “Forwarding”.
– go to the “Phone” application -> “Settings” -> “Calls” -> “Call forwarding”:

You can also enable forwarding by typing the command in the dialer:

**21*PHONE_NUMBER_FOR FORWARDING#

and pressing the call key.

“21” in this command is an unconditional forwarding code, that is, all calls without exception will be forwarded. There are several codes that can be used instead of 21:

  • 67 – forwarding only if your phone is busy;
  • 62 – forwarding if your phone is offline or turned off;
  • 61 – forwarding if you do not answer the call.

If you don’t have a phone number with which you need to set up call forwarding, call your operator’s customer service. The dispatcher will connect you to any type of forwarding to any number, of course, after you confirm your identity by giving your passport details.

The forwarding setting is usually indicated by a special icon in the status bar:

How to disable forwarding

This can also be done through your phone settings and contact center. Or use the command:

##002# - cancels all installed forwardings.

How much does redirection cost?

Using the forwarding service itself is free, but you will pay for forwarded calls at your regular rate. It’s as if you are calling the number to which you have set forwarding. Also, sometimes the operator may charge a fee for setting up call forwarding through the subscriber service. For example, at MTS it will cost 30 rubles.

If you have any questions, we will be happy to help you!

MTS forwarding allows you to direct all incoming calls to another number, but this will not affect the ability to make outgoing calls and SMS. This service is especially relevant for people who travel a lot and often, but at the same time want to remain in the access zone. Almost all mobile communication companies provide similar services, so the MTS forwarding number can be linked to another operator. To use this service, it needs to be configured, which also does not take much time. Conversations will be paid in accordance with the selected tariff plan; there will be no additional charge for using call forwarding.

Types of forwarding in MTS

Since cases in which MTS forwarding to another number may be required may be different, the company provides four different types of this option.

  1. The first is especially suitable for corporate companies and clients, since the signal is forwarded to another number immediately after receiving a busy signal.
  2. Next, MTS call forwarding occurs if the number does not answer for a certain time. The call period is determined by the subscriber himself.
  3. The subscriber's device is out of network coverage or is turned off. In this case, all incoming calls will be redirected to another number.
  4. Unconditional forwarding transfers all incoming calls to the specified number.

It is very important that this function allows you to redirect calls to absolutely any number, be it a landline number or belonging to another mobile operator. Some problems may arise with calls from numbers that begin with 8800.

Connecting and setting up forwarding on MTS

This function is very popular, since redirecting to MTS is quite simple. Like most of the features and options provided by this company, connection and configuration do not require special skills or training.

The easiest way is a personal account on the operator’s website. It contains detailed step-by-step instructions to help the subscriber. It is also possible to forward SMS to MTS in your personal account. In addition, the company offers the use of the My MTS application, which also provides options for setting up and connecting various service packages and options, including MTS call forwarding.

There are also special network requests that will allow you to route calls to a specified number.

To install unconditional forwarding on a subscriber's number, in which all incoming calls will be redirected to another phone number, you need to dial from the device *21*subscriber number where calls will be directed#. To check the activity of the service, you need to dial a request from your phone *#21# , after which a message with information will be sent to the number. If the service is no longer needed, you should not call the operator, since you can also disable forwarding to MTS using a special code - ##21#.

If call forwarding is required when the subscriber does not answer, you must dial *61*subscriber number#. To check the activity of the service and disable it accordingly, requests are used *#61# And ##61# . To set the interval at which the service will be triggered, you must specify the required time in the request code - *61*subscriber number*interval#. O can range from 5 to 30 seconds, but must be a multiple of five.

If your phone is turned off or offline

How to enable forwarding to MTS if the phone is turned off or there is no network? There are mobile queries:

  • enable - *62*number#;
  • disable - ##62#;
  • check activity - *#62#.

If the phone is busy

When the subscriber is busy, redirection from MTS to Megafon or any other operator is made using requests:

  • connection - *67*number#;
  • shutdown - ##67#;
  • checking the service status - *#67#.

It is important to take into account that all numbers specified for forwarding must be written in international format, that is, starting with +7. If forwarding is carried out to a city number, it is also necessary to indicate it in international format and be sure to indicate the city code.

Other ways to set up forwarding for MTS

Forwarding from MTS to Beeline, Megafon, another operator or landline phone number can be carried out in other ways.

To receive detailed instructions on your phone for connecting and using the “Call Forwarding to Another Number” service, you can send a USSD command *111*40# . You can also send an SMS with the text 1111 to a short number 2111 and also receive settings on your mobile device.

You can also always contact the operator or contact the MTS service center, where a specialist will tell you in detail about the connection and the terms of use of the service. However, the cost of connecting this function will be 30 rubles if the subscriber uses a contact center for this.

Other operators also provide similar services. To find out how redirection from Tele2 to MTS or from another operator works, you need to read the instructions on their website.

Do you want to see the client's number on your mobile after the call is forwarded? Read why this is impossible in a long and boring, but detailed article about how call forwarding and number spoofing works with links to laws. We answer the questions: what are we talking about, how does it work, why is it outgoing, how much does it cost, why we don’t do a replacement and how to get around it.

What is call forwarding

Call forwarding is the transfer of an incoming call when the phone is not answered. There are conditional and unconditional forwarding: in the first case - transfer under several conditions, in the second - transfer of absolutely all incoming calls. The conditions are as follows: when busy, when unavailable, when there is no answer, when entering an extension (for PBX).

If the call forwarding occurs inside the PBX, there is no tariff, but when the call goes to an external number - landline or mobile - call forwarding is charged. And what is important: even if you forward from the PBX to another number connected to the PBX, then call forwarding is paid - the call leaves us and goes through the operator. In most cases, each forwarding minute costs the same as an outgoing minute. Sometimes there are separate prices for forwarding, the price from the package does not apply, and so on. Check with the operator.

Why is outgoing communication needed?

There is redirection, even if there is none. A common situation: “I’ll receive calls on my mobile, why do I need outgoing calls and forwarding?” This is a misconception: if a call goes through a PBX to a mobile phone, call forwarding works, the call is paid, and the number must have outgoing lines. Forwarding to a mobile or landline means two calls: incoming and outgoing. Therefore, it is important that you have at least two lines and outgoing communication is working.

The PBX has a special feature: you can select the number through which the call will be forwarded. By default, call forwarding is treated as a regular outgoing call and outgoing rules apply. However, this way you will not know which number the client called. To avoid this, for each number you can set whether to use rules or this number to forward the call.

However, in any of the options, your external number will be displayed on your phone, not the client’s. Looking ahead, this cannot be fixed, but there are workarounds.

Number substitution and legislation

Determining the number when forwarding is the main problem that our users face. They want to see the client's number so they can call back if necessary. But Russian legislation gets in the way of business.

Theory

To understand, let’s find out how telecom operators work. Their activities are licensed, and to become an operator, you need to obtain a license. The license has requirements, for example, it is necessary to submit a communication center to Roskomnadzor. The difficulties are small - even a business center can become an operator, it does not have to be a large company like. Operators do not exist in isolation; they interact with each other through interconnection agreements.

Thousands of operators are subject to the same law “On Communications”. It fully regulates activities in the field of communications, and licenses will be taken away for non-compliance (Article 37). Without licenses, other operators will not work with you - this is prohibited, otherwise they will also be taken away from them. And without others you won’t be able to - how to call other people’s numbers? For an operator, revocation of a license means the death of a business.

The law (Article 41, paragraph 3) refers to the need to certify software and metering equipment:

The list of communication means subject to mandatory certification, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, includes:

... as well as communication equipment with measuring functions that take into account the volume of communication services provided by telecom operators in public communication networks...

We are talking about billing and it needs to be certified; this is regulated by Order of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation dated April 8, 2008 N 38 “On approval of the Rules for the use of equipment for time-based recording of connection duration.” In the fifth appendix about substituting a number (Caller ID):

1. APUS with the function of protection against substitution of Caller ID information provides:

  1. reception of information transmitted by Caller ID equipment;
  2. comparison of the received information with the information that should be in the case of receiving undistorted Caller ID information (hereinafter referred to as reference information);
  3. disconnection of the connection if the received information differs from the reference information.

2. APUS generates and stores for at least 6 months a data array with a list of telephone numbers for which attempts to replace Caller ID information have been registered (hereinafter referred to as the array of number replacement).
3. APUS provides the ability to view the array of numbers substitution during the entire period of its storage.
4. The APUS provides the ability to transfer an array of substitution numbers to external automated settlement systems without suspending the functioning of the APUS.

It is the operator's responsibility to monitor, drop, record and store spoofed calls. In fact, number substitution is not prohibited, but the operator is obliged to respond. Violation may result in license revocation.

Conclusion for the lazy: it is possible to substitute, but it is pointless - substitution is stopped. There are no penalties yet for individuals and ordinary companies.

Causes

There are two areas that are interested in limiting number spoofing. These are the operators and intelligence agencies themselves.

Large operators comply with the law and are forced to enter into international agreements on traffic exchange. They send international calls through official channels and pay per minute under these contracts. Therefore, when a call comes from abroad, they are interested in the calls going through the same channels and already paying them. But the call can be sent over the Internet, without using their channel and without paying them. Operators lose money on this.

It’s even easier with the intelligence services - they must know who called, to whom and at what time. Therefore, when the number is changed, some of the information is lost and it becomes more difficult to find terrorists/criminals.

Exception

What is not prohibited is permitted, so in some cases there may be substitution. We are talking about constant substitution of the number you own. For example, you have a landline number on which you receive incoming calls. And you want the same number to be identified when calling via SIP telephony. If you can prove ownership of the number, some operators will allow you to substitute it. But incoming messages from clients will still not be detected.

This is the operator’s initiative and remains at his discretion. Unfortunately, we will not recommend such operators.

Future

From time to time, the idea pops up among colleagues that substitution will be allowed. We have the opposite opinion - the situation will only get worse. For the second year now, the media have been writing about a direct ban on replacing numbers for calls from abroad. The interests are the same: money and security, more details about the initiative in the RBC material.

Practice

Theory and practice often diverge. But we have no answer to what happens with substitution in practice.

Everything above relates to telecom; we work in IT. Therefore, we encounter the law less often, but we don’t make substitutions - the operators don’t let them through. We don't know how often substitution is punished. And we certainly don’t want to find out for ourselves, so we comply with the law.

How to solve

If the client’s number cannot be shown on the manager’s mobile phone, you can look for alternatives. We do not have a ready-made solution, but integrators offer several options.

RocketCRM

There really is a problem with number identification and we are solving it. We recently mastered the WebSocket API in onlinePBX and the number of options has increased.

  1. Call back for the manager: the script using the manager’s number will automatically connect you with the last client. And since the call goes through the PBX, the conversation will be recorded and placed in the required CRM card.
  2. Send SMS during or after the call to the number of the manager who answered. The SMS contains the client's name from the CRM and number.
  3. Instead of or together with SMS, send the same information to the manager’s email.
  4. As a last resort, transfer managers to FMC.

These are the main options, but we don’t stop there and try to find a suitable solution for each customer.

Konstantin Kuznetsov

Get the result

Customers use only amoCRM, so we solve the issue quite simply. We install the amoCRM mobile application on the manager’s phone and create tasks, deals, and contacts for all calls. After the call, the manager finds the right client through the application and calls back.
