Black desktop Windows 10. Black screen when loading Windows: what to do if the computer does not turn on

Today we’ll look at what actions you should take if a black screen appears when loading Windows 10. Most of the problem is associated with discrete video card drivers from Nvidia (mainly GeForce) and AMD (Radeon). This problem, although the most common, is not the only one, so let’s not start with it. First, let's look at the simplest options for getting out of the situation, which will require no more than 1-2 minutes of time.

Note that the appearance of a black screen is often accompanied by the process of resuming the computer after sleep mode or hibernation.

Sometimes the problem appears after connecting a second monitor to a computer/laptop. If this applies to you, try displaying the image on a second display. This is done “blindly”:

  • press “Win + P” to open a window where you select an image output device, if there are several of them in the system;
  • Press the cursor down “↓” and “Enter” to confirm duplicating the image.

Launching Explorer

Due to many reasons, at one of the final stages of loading Windows 10, its graphical shell, for which the process (aka file) explorer.exe is responsible, was not launched. It happens that some malicious programs simply change the path to the explorer.exe file in the registry, replacing it with their own body.

The “Task Manager” will help you launch the graphical shell.

1. Call it using “Ctrl+Alt+Delete”.

2. Call “File” from the main menu and select “Run a new task”.

3. Enter the command “explorer.exe” or select the file of the same name located in the Windows directory of the system volume.

4. Press “Enter”.

The solution didn't help? Let's move on to the next method.

Restarting the computer

One of the methods to fix the error when a black screen appears when loading Windows 10 is to restart the computer. You will have to carry it out blindly, but there is nothing difficult about it.

  • We switch the system language to the one in which the password was set, knowing that Russian is used by default.

You can also switch to it using the “Win+Space” key combination.

  • Just in case, perform a few clicks on “Backspace” to remove possible characters in the password entry form.
  • Enter your password and press “Enter” to log in.
  • We wait 10-20 seconds until Windows 10 prepares the desktop for use.

The waiting time may be different, depending on the speed of the computer and the amount of automatically launched software.

  • Press “Win + R” to open the “Run” window.
  • Switch to English, enter “shutdown /r” and execute the command to restart the computer with the “Enter” key.

If nothing happens, repeat steps 5-6 again. As a last resort, use the hardware key to interrupt the operation of the computer “Reset” or end it (hold down “Power” for a long time).

Disabling Windows Fast Startup

For the most part, further steps help only owners of Radeon video adapters.

1. Go to the “Control Panel” using the search bar or the WinX menu.

2. Call one of its latest applets, “Power.”

3. In the left vertical menu, click on the link “Actions of the power buttons”.

Attention. Performing the action requires administrator rights.

5. Move to the bottom of the window and uncheck the box next to “Enable fast startup...”.

6. Save the accepted changes.

After this, if the cause of the black tap was a quick start, the problem will not reoccur.

Reinstalling or updating the graphics card driver

If the previous methods did not give a positive result, try removing the drivers and installing them again by downloading the latest versions from the video adapter manufacturer's website.

The first part of the actions will also have to be performed “blindly”, meaning that Windows 10 has started, but there is no image on the display.

  1. Press Backspace a couple of times on the login screen.
  2. Click Tab 5 times.
  3. Press the “Enter” key.
  4. Then use the “cursor up” button.
  5. Hold "Shift" and use "Enter" again.
  6. We wait about a minute until the diagnostic, resume and OS rollback window opens.
  7. Press “down” and “Enter” twice.
  8. Down again three times and “Enter”.
  9. Next, if you are using an old motherboard with a BIOS, click the “↓” key twice, and if you are using a new motherboard with UEFI, click the down arrow three times and confirm the operation by pressing “Enter”. If you follow these steps correctly, your PC will restart and display special boot options.
  10. Using F3 or F5, select your preferred Windows 10 startup mode and launch it by clicking on the “Enter” key.

Now you can try rolling back the system to one of its previous states, updating or reinstalling the graphics adapter drivers.

Let's consider the option of uninstalling and installing the latest driver using the example of using an Nvidia video card.

1. Call the Control Panel applet called “Programs and Features.”

2. Find all products related to your graphics adapter.

For Nvidia this could be PhysX and components for viewing 3D video, and for Radeon Install Manager.

3. Go to the website of the video card developer and download the latest version of the driver for it.

4. Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions provided, selecting the required components for installation.

5. Reboot the computer in normal mode.

As a rule, after this the black screen does not appear when loading Windows 10.

In order not to uninstall every element included in the set of software for your video card, use an application to completely clean the system of AMD/Intel/Nvidia video card drivers called Display Driver Installer. In addition to using a standard uninstaller, the utility will scan your computer for residual files, directories and registry keys.

1. Launch the sfx archive downloaded from the application developer’s website and unpack it.

2. Open the application and select the “Safe Mode” download option from the drop-down list.

3. Click “Reboot to Save Mode” to restart the PC and boot it into safe mode.

4. Select the manufacturer of your video card in the drop-down menu on the right.

5. Click on the “Delete and reboot” button.

After this, all files related to the graphics subsystem software will be deleted, and after restarting the computer, you can install new drivers that will get rid of the black screen.

Avast Antivirus

A large number of users complain about the antivirus program from Avast, the installation of which leads to a black screen. Uninstalling a security application is not a solution, nor is disabling its autorun. And adding the “explorer.exe” file to the exceptions will get rid of the problem.

  1. Open “Task Manager”.
  2. Go to the “Processes” tab, look for the “Avast.exe” process and call the “Open file save location” command through its context menu.
  3. We launch the program using the file “AvastUI.exe”.
  4. Expand the “Antivirus” item and go to the “Behavior Screen” subsection.
  5. Click “Browse” and specify the path to the explorer file “explorer.exe” located in the “C:\Windows” directory.

After saving the changes, Avast stops constant monitoring, and as a result, blocking the process.

Switching to the built-in video card

If the above tips did not help get rid of the problem, and your computer has a second video card integrated into the central processor or motherboard, try connecting a monitor to it. After successfully launching Windows 10, use the instructions above and install the latest version of the driver, removing all its components related to the old edition.

Rollback Windows

If you have a bootable flash drive with the Tens distribution kit or a disk for its recovery, boot from this media and roll back the system to the moment when the computer was working properly (updating drivers for the video card).

After upgrading to Windows 10, many users often experience a solid black screen, after which the system stops loading or the process is very slow. This bug first appeared immediately after the release of the build and so far it has not been possible to get rid of it completely, despite the attempts made by the developer. Many experts and enthusiasts find different solutions to this problem every day. You will learn about some from our article.

Black screen in Windows 10 with and without cursor

The screen can have two views:

  • with cursor;
  • just a black screen.

Black monitor screen with cursor

There may not be a spinning wheel at all, as shown in the image.

In what cases does it appear?

  • Immediately after upgrading from a previous system to Windows 10 on its first boot.
  • After turning off and then turning on or rebooting the computer from the working OS.

What do we have to do?

  • First, determine after which of your most recent actions a solid black screen began to appear.
  • Then, based on the analysis of the first point, draw a conclusion about the possible causes of the bug.
  • Restore system functionality.

Black screen after upgrading the system to Windows 10: causes and solutions

Software glitch

The failure could have occurred unnoticed by the user during the update process. To restore the system, just repeat the update process and the black screen will disappear.

Conflict between a system updated to Windows 10 and previously installed video card drivers

It's a little more complicated here. To get started, you just need to get into the system.

If a solid black screen appears when loading Windows 10, but then the OS still loads, then take the following steps, and after completing each of them, restart your computer:

Updating video card drivers

If you only see a black screen when loading Windows 10, you must first log in using Safe Mode and then do everything described above.

Necessary steps to enter safe mode:

The computer restarts and the system boots into safe mode.

You can also enter safe mode using the Windows 10 installation disk, and if it is missing, use the eighth version of the system:

After opening the first window, click the “Next” button.

The first window that pops up after starting the disc
System Restore

Subsequently, the system starts in safe mode in the same sequence as shown above.

Automatic redirection to the second video card connector

Connect the monitor to the free video card socket, which is located on the back of the system unit.

If an already running Windows 10 crashes: reasons and solutions

Device conflicting with the system

Disconnect all newly connected devices to the computer and launch Windows 10. The black solid screen does not appear. Connect devices one at a time and restart your computer before a problem occurs. After this, disconnect the hardware that conflicts with the system and start the OS in normal mode. Update the drivers on the problematic device.

Installing new drivers for the video card

Revert to using old drivers or restore the system to an earlier state and the rollback to previous settings will occur automatically. You can select old drivers in the update window in Device Manager. How to get there has already been discussed above.

To start the recovery process, do the following:

You already know how to enter safe mode if the solid black screen does not disappear and Windows 10 does not start at all. Let's move on.

  1. If the system starts up after a while after a solid black screen appears, then first reboot into safe mode from a running Windows 10 by holding down the Shift key and pressing the “Reboot” drop-down list item from the “On/Off” menu, which can be accessed through the main Start menu. Reboot in Safe Mode
  2. Select "Diagnostics".
    Select from a list
  3. Click Advanced Options.
    Intermediate choice
  4. Select System Restore.
    Recovery scheme
  5. Click "Next".
    Intermediate choice
  6. Select a restore point and click Next.
    Restore point
  7. Click the "Done" button.
    Confirmation of actions
  8. Confirm your decision to restore the system by clicking the "OK" button.
    The final stage

After rebooting, the system will be restored to its original state.

Infecting your computer with viruses

This could happen when browsing the Internet or installing unverified software. If necessary, boot Windows 10 in safe mode, scan the system with an antivirus program and delete infected files, then restart your computer.

Screen resolution

The screen resolution may not be supported by the video adapter. Restart your system in Safe Mode, change your screen resolution to a lower resolution, and restart your computer.

After eliminating all the faults, in order to prevent the menu with a choice of boot modes from popping up during subsequent starts of Windows 10, you need to right-click on the “Start” menu, select “Command Prompt (Administrator)” from the drop-down list while the computer is running, enter command “bcdedit /deletevalue (globalsettings) advancedoptions” and press Enter. Windows 10 will now boot normally.

Video: one way to fix the problem

Getting rid of the black screen in Windows 10 turned out to be not so difficult. After completing these steps, the operating system will load without delays or failures, and the black screen will be a thing of the past.

The operating system is loading, there are sounds, the computer is working, but instead of a desktop there is a black screen. What to do in this case? Usually the problem occurs after updating the "ten" or installing a new system. Sometimes this situation is typical for a computer infected with viruses or after they have been removed.

A black screen may appear with a cursor (viruses), but often it is missing (video card and drivers). The “non-desktop” appears mainly after a reboot, but there are cases of crashes after turning the PC on and off, sleeping mode or hibernation.

Quick solutions

Before moving on to “serious” solutions to the problem, let's look at a few quick troubleshooting options:

  • Often users turn off the computer during updates, not paying attention to the “Do not turn off...” message. A black screen may indicate that the operating system is being updated. The way to check this is to look in the Task Manager (more details) for the presence of the Windows Modules Installer Worker process. If it takes up too much processor (CPU) resources, then the OS is actually being updated;
  • the problem may lie in the second connected monitor (we will talk about its connection and settings). Turn off the second display and see if the situation changes;

The reason is viruses

At the beginning, we said that the reason for the appearance of a black screen with a cursor could be viruses. Even after removing them, this problem occurs. Some malware makes not very good adjustments to the registry key. And often exactly in the section that is responsible for turning on the desktop.

Launch the Task Manager using the Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination (select it from the pop-up menu). In the window, click on the “File” tab, then “Run a new task” - and enter regedit in the execution line.

In the Registry Editor that opens, follow the path indicated at the top of the following screenshot. In the last Wingolon folder we are interested in two parameters. The first is Shell, whose value should be explorer.exe. If it is different, set the correct one (click on the parameter twice with the left mouse button and enter a new one). If Shell is missing at all, create it with the desired value (top tab Edit - New - String parameter).

The second parameter is Userinit. Its value (path) must match that shown in the screenshot.

Another important point. Follow the same path, only first select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER section. Make sure that the settings described above are not present in the Wingolon folder. If they are there, delete them.

The black screen loading situation should improve. Otherwise, try the methods we describe below, or check your system again for threats. You can choose a good antivirus program.

Reboot and fast start Windows 10

Disabling fast OS startup is a method that often helps owners of computers with an AMD (ATI) Radeon video card installed.

But first, we will need to reboot it to make sure this is the cause of the malfunction. As we understand, we will reboot the computer blindly.

Method number 1. Log in to your account by entering your password or PIN code. First, it is better to press the Backspace key several times to remove unnecessary characters. Press the Win+R keys. A Run window will appear, which we will not see. Type the command shutdown /r and press the Enter key. It is important that you have the correct English-language keyboard layout. We wait a few seconds, then click Enter again. The computer should start to reboot, so we wait again.

Method No. 2. Reboot via login screen. We also press Backspace several times. Then we need to get to the shutdown button, which we showed in the very first screenshot. Press the Tab key 5 times (five is important). Click Enter, then the up arrow and Enter again. The computer will restart.

Another way to restart the computer is to turn it off and on again using the power button (pressed for a long time). But the method is dangerous both for the PC itself and for the operating system.

So, if after a blind reboot you finally see the long-awaited desktop, it’s really a matter of the Radeon video card and the quick launch of the OS. Let's turn it off.

Let's go to the Control Panel (more details on how to do this -) and select the "Power Options" section. Here we need the “Button Actions” tab.

First, click on “Change settings...” to unlock the desired settings.

Then scroll down and remove the marker from “Quick Launch”. Save the changes.

Video card drivers

We will again have to act blindly to remove and reinstall the video card drivers. There will also be two ways here.

Method number 1. In the Windows login window, in the lower right corner we find the on/off icon. First, delete the excess with the Backspace key, press Tab five times, then Enter and the up arrow. While holding down the Shift key, press Enter. We wait a few minutes for the recovery menu to load. We most likely won't see him.

  • Click on the down arrow three times, press Enter, down again twice, Enter again and the left arrow twice;
  • the next step depends on the type of BIOS: for MBR - down arrow once and Enter, for UEFI computers - down arrow twice and Enter;
  • final action - key

We need one of two boot types - low-resolution video mode (F3) or safe mode with network drivers (F5). After running one of them, try restoring the system or removing the drivers and installing them again.

Method No. 2. Let's try the second option of reinstalling the drivers. After starting the computer, in the login menu (we don’t see it), we log into the system using a password or PIN code. Hold down the Win+X combination and click the up arrow 8 times. Press Enter.

Thus, we launched the command line as administrator. Enter the command bcdedit /set (default) safeboot network and press Enter. It is important that the layout is in English. Next, enter the command shutdown /r and press Enter again. After a few seconds (about 20, if there is a beep - after it) Enter again and wait for the operating system to boot into safe mode.

In this mode we will be able to configure our drivers - remove them and install new ones. By the way, to then return from safe mode to normal Windows boot, you need to enter another command on the command line - bcdedit /deletevalue (default) safeboot.

Integrated Video

Another possible solution for owners of desktop computers is to connect to an integrated video card. Of course, if it is available on the motherboard.

Turn off the computer and connect the monitor input to the output of the integrated card. If the desktop boots normally, you can reinstall the drivers for your discrete device.

Let's sum it up

Solving the Windows 10 black screen problem is quite difficult because you have to work blindly. It is possible that a black screen appears with a cursor. Then the most common reason is viruses and registry changes. If there is no cursor, the problem is usually in the video card and drivers. To do this, we can turn off the OS fast startup, remove and reinstall the drivers, or connect to the integrated video card (for desktop PCs).

After updating or installing Windows 10, as well as after a normal reboot of an already successfully installed system, you get a black screen with a mouse pointer, and you don’t know what to do, don’t rush to get upset and delete the system, there is a way out. In general, this glitch dates back to Windows 8.1, I previously told you how to fix a black screen in Windows 8.1, I advise you to read it too if the methods presented below do not help you.

The problem is very often associated with glitches in NVidia or AMD Radeon video cards, but this is not the only reason. In this instruction, we will look at the situation when Windows 10 boots, sounds are heard, but nothing is displayed on the screen except the annoying mouse, or you may encounter another possible situation when a black screen appears after sleep or hibernation (or after turning off and turning on the computer again) .

Note: In some cases in Windows 10, a black screen may be caused by a connected second monitor. In this case, try disabling it, and if this does not work, then log into the system blindly (described below, in the section about rebooting), then press Windows + P, the down key once and Enter.

Note 2: If you see the login screen and a black screen appears after login, then try the next option. On the login screen, click on the on-off button at the bottom right, and then, while holding Shift, click “Reboot”. In the menu that opens, select Diagnostics - Advanced options - System recovery.

Reboot Windows 10

One of the working ways to fix the black screen problem after restarting Windows 10, apparently quite workable for owners of AMD (ATI) Radeon video cards, is to completely restart the computer, and then disable Windows 10 Fast Startup.

To do this blindly, after booting the computer with a black screen, press the Backspace key (left arrow to delete a character) several times - this will remove the lock screen splash screen and remove any characters from the password input field if you accidentally entered them there.

After this, switch the keyboard layout (if required, the default in Windows 10 is usually Russian, you can almost guarantee switching with the Windows + Space keys) and enter your account password. Press Enter and wait for the system to boot.

The next step is to restart the computer. To do this, press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard, wait 5-10 seconds, enter (again, you may need to switch the keyboard layout if your system is Russian by default):

and press Enter. After a few seconds, press Enter again and wait about a minute, the computer should reboot - it is quite possible that you will see an image on the screen this time.

The second way to restart Windows 10 with a black screen is after turning on the computer, press the Backspace key several times (or you can use the space bar or any character), then press the Tab key five times (this will take us to the on/off icon on the lock screen), press Enter, then - the “Up” key and Enter again. After this, the computer will restart.

If none of these options allow you to restart your computer, you can try (potentially dangerous) forcing the computer to shut down by long pressing the power button. And then turn it back on.

If, as a result of everything suggested, an image appears on the screen, then the problem is precisely in the operation of the video card drivers after a quick start (which is used by default in Windows 10) and to prevent the error from reoccurring.

Disabling Windows 10 Fast Startup:

Right-click on the Start button, select Control Panel

On the left, select “Power Button Actions.”

At the top, click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

Scroll down the window and uncheck the “Enable Fast Startup” checkbox.

Save your changes. The problem should not be repeated in the future.

Using Integrated Video

If you have an output for connecting a monitor not from a discrete video card, but on the motherboard, try turning off the computer, connecting the monitor to this output and turning on the computer again.

There is a high probability (if the integrated adapter is not disabled in UEFI) that after turning it on, you will see an image on the screen and will be able to roll back the discrete video card drivers (via Device Manager), install new ones, or use system recovery.

Removing and reinstalling video card drivers

If the previous method did not work, you should try to remove the video card drivers from Windows 10. You can do this in safe mode or in low screen resolution mode, and I will now tell you how to get into it, seeing only a black screen (two ways to different situations).

First option. On the login screen (black), press Backspace several times, then Tab 5 times, press Enter, then up once and, while holding Shift, Enter again. Wait about a minute (the diagnostic, recovery, system rollback menu will load, which you probably won’t see either).

Next steps:

  1. Down three times - Enter - down twice - Enter - left twice.
  2. For computers with BIOS and MBR - once down, Enter. For computers with UEFI - down twice - Enter. If you don’t know which option you have, press “down” once, and if you get into the UEFI (BIOS) settings, then use the two-click option.
  3. Press Enter again.

The computer will restart and show you special boot options. Using the number keys 3 (F3) or 5 (F5) to enter Low Screen Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. After booting, you can either try to run System Restore in the Control Panel, or remove the existing video card drivers, and then, after restarting Windows 10 in normal mode (the image should appear), install them again.

If this method of booting your computer does not work for some reason, you can try the following option:

  1. Log into Windows 10 with a password (as this was described at the beginning of the instructions).
  2. Press the Win+X keys.
  3. Press up 8 times and then Enter to open the command line.

At the command line, enter (must be in English):

bcdedit /set (default) safeboot network

and press Enter. After that enter shutdown /r press Enter, after 10-20 seconds (or after the sound alert) - Enter again and wait until the computer reboots: it should boot into safe mode, where you can remove the current video card drivers or start system recovery. (In order to return to normal booting in the future, in the command line as an administrator, use the command

bcdedit (default) /deletevalue safeboot)

Additionally: if you have a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 10 or a recovery disk, then you can use them: Restoring Windows 10 (you can try using restore points, or, as a last resort, resetting the system).

Update from 07/06/2017

Update KB4034450 has been released, designed to eliminate all problems with dozens of black screens; if possible, install it as soon as possible in safe mode, slipping it through a flash drive or disk. I hope that this note helped you solve your problem with the new OS from our beloved small software. Site material

Many users have repeatedly noticed, even in early builds of Windows 10, a black screen that appears when the system boots. This bug is quite common, but developers have not yet found a method to solve it.

We offer you some tips that can help solve the Windows 10 black screen problem.

Diagnostic actions

It is worth distinguishing when a black or gray screen in Windows 10 appears before the system boots or while it is running.

If a black screen appears before the system boots, you should do the following:

  • We reconnect all devices: keyboard, mouse. We carry out all actions in order to eliminate the possibility of failure of one of the devices.
  • We check the connection of the screen to the system unit. Often, driver changes can cause the video signal to be redirected to a different adapter or output. Therefore, it is worth reconnecting the monitor.
  • If you have two video cards installed and there is a second video output, then you should try turning off the computer, connecting the monitor to the other output and turning it on again. There is a good chance that the drivers for the video card were lost during the system update. If after turning on the PC you see an image on the screen, you can roll back the discrete video card drivers (via Device Manager) and install new ones or use system recovery.

If the screen is black and you can't see what's happening

In this case, a blind restart of the system will help. To do this, you should perform the following steps:

  • We switch the Windows 10 language when logging in to the one that was used to set the password, knowing that Russian is used by default. You can also change the language using the “Win+Space” key combination.
  • Just in case, press “Backspace” several times to remove possible characters in the form for entering your login and password.
  • Enter your password and press “Enter”.
  • We wait up to 20 seconds. During this time, Windows 10 will prepare the desktop for use.
  • Waiting times may vary. It all depends on the speed of the system and the number of programs being launched.
  • Press “Win+R”. We set the language to English, enter “shutdown /r” and execute the command to restart the computer with the “Enter” key.

The second method of rebooting your computer blindly

The second method of rebooting a PC blindly is similar to the first. The only difference is in some of the actions.

  • When loading Windows 10, you need to press “Backspace” several times.
  • Next, press “Tab” 5 times. These actions are intended so that when, at startup, the welcome window is invisible and you need to get to the “On-Off” buttons.
  • Then press “Enter”.
  • Next is the “Top” arrow (button) and again the “Enter” button. After these manipulations, the computer should reboot.

We solve the problem by disabling fast system startup

If Windows 10 does not start for you and a black screen appears after every reboot, you need to disable the Quick Start feature. In Windows 10, it is relatively new and the features of its operation are not fully understood. Therefore, it is recommended to disable it. To do this, click “Start”, “Settings” and select “System”.

In the left menu, select “Power Options”. Click on the “System Settings” link and then in the “Action of the power buttons” section, uncheck “Enable fast startup (recommended).”

Reboot your PC for the changes to take effect.

Updating drivers for the video card as a method of solving the problem

A black screen when starting Windows 10 may be due to the graphics driver. Therefore it needs to be updated. To do this, you can use Windows Update.

Click “Start”, “Control Panel” and select the desired service. Or call “Device Manager” and right-click on “Video adapter” and select “Update driver”.

If black screens begin to appear after changing your account, you can try to create another one and log in with a new username and password. If successful, the old entry must be deleted.

Also, if you installed new drivers or software before the black screen appeared, you should uninstall the program or roll back the system to an earlier state. To do this, click on the “Computer” image and select “Properties”. Go to the “System Protection” tab and click “System Restore”. Next, we either use the recommended restore point or select our own. Click “Next”.

This method is more effective as it eliminates the occurrence of bugs.

Solving the problem through the Task Manager

If a black screen occurs while the computer is running, you should boot into safe mode and follow these steps:

  • Right-click on the "Start" icon and select "Task Manager".

  • Go to the "Processes" tab and disable everything associated with RunOnce 32.exe.

  • Reboot your Windows 10 computer. The black screen should disappear.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the video driver blindly

If you are unable to boot into safe mode, you can reinstall the software blindly. To do this, you should strictly follow the instructions.

Method No. 1

  • On a black screen, press “Backspace” several times.
  • Click “Tab” 5 times, as in the first method.
  • Press “Enter”.
  • Click on the “Up” arrow once.
  • Press and hold “Shift” and at the same time click “Enter”.
  • We wait 20 seconds.
  • Using the arrows: 3 times “Up”, 1 time “Enter”, 2 times “Down”, “Enter”, 2 times “Left”.
  • If you have a regular BIOS or BIOS with MBR, then press “Enter” once. If your motherboard supports UEFI, then click “Down” 2 times and “Enter” 1 time.
  • Enter once.
  • The following window will then appear. Naturally you won't see him. But select the desired action and use the “F3” or “F5” keys.

Once booted, you can run system recovery or remove existing video card drivers and download new ones.

Method No. 2

If method No. 1 did not help solve the problem and a black screen appears when loading into Windows 10, then you should try the following method:

  • We go into Windows 10 with a password (as described in the paragraph “If the screen is black and you can’t see what’s happening”).
  • Press “Win+X”.
  • Click the “Up” arrow 8 times. Then press “Enter”.
  • In the command line, you should blindly enter “bcdedit /set (default) safeboot network” in English and press “Enter”. After that, enter “shutdown /r” and press “Enter”. After 10 seconds, click “Enter” again and wait until the computer reboots.
  • In order to return to normal boot in the future, you need to enter “bcdedit (default) /deletevalue safeboot” in the command line.

It is important to note that if you have a disk or flash drive with a Windows 10 image, you should use it to restore the system.
