Which processor is better for tanks. World of Tanks system requirements. What are system requirements

Hi all! Alexander Glebov is with you, and in this article I will tell you how I assembled a computer for wot using one order of computer help. World of tanks has quite serious requirements for a computer, and the customer’s budget was limited, he wanted to play and save money, what came out of this read more...

So, one fine day, one girl wrote to me asking me to pick up a computer for gaming. I, in turn, clarified what games I would run on the computer and whether a monitor was needed. In response I received an answer that the games will be as follows:

  1. World of Tanks.
  2. MineCraft.
  3. Counter-Strike global offensive.

Naturally, the most demanding game on the computer from this list is World of Tanks. It was from her that I began to dance. First you need to understand the hardware requirements.

World of tanks computer requirements

WoT is a modern game that is constantly developing, improving, improving picture quality, and as a result, the requirements for the computer are serious. Let's see what kind of computer we need to have to play wot.

Minimum system requirements for your computer

OS version: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10
Central Processing Unit (CPU): Minimum 2 physical cores and support for SSE2 technology
Random access memory (RAM/RAM): 2 GB
Video card:
  • Nvidea GeForce 6800
  • AMD ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 256 MB
  • DirectX 9.0c support.

From the two tablets above, we understand what world of tanks computer requirements are. But there is one thing, the minimum requirements are just to run the game, but we want to play in comfort. The recommended requirements for a computer are not included in the concept of a budget computer. One Intel Core i5 costs about 13 thousand rubles. After analyzing a bunch of information, I came to the conclusion that I would build a computer on Intel Core i3.

Computer configuration for world of tanks

As I wrote at the very beginning, you need a budget computer, but also with the ability to play comfortably. Core i5 didn’t fit into the budget, so as a result I ended up with this gaming computer for world of tanks:

Today we will look at the optimal hardware option for a comfortable game in World of Tanks.

In addition to the fact that World of Tanks is one of the most popular games throughout the CIS, the project of Belarusian developers is also becoming a popular e-sports discipline. If you decide to upgrade your PC or build yourself a gaming system specifically tailored for Tanks, this article will be very useful.

Choosing a processor for World of Tanks

The processor for wot is a very important component, because the game is very demanding on the processor. This is due to the many processes and computational operations that occur during combat. Some players began to notice that the best choice of processor for World of Tanks would be products from Intel, while components from AMD, with the same technical characteristics, produce a lower number of FPS. It is still unknown whether this is an optimization issue or some other reason, but the fact remains that Intel processors are the best choice for world of tanks. The optimal purchase for comfortable gaming at good settings would be Intel Core i3 or i5 products. The 6th generation of Intel processors (labeled 6xxx) easily copes with high graphics settings and provides stable frames per second. It is best to choose a processor with 4 cores and the highest clock speed, then the game will run stably and not slow down.

Choosing a video card for World of Tanks

Tanks do not put much strain on the video card, so even budget models can easily handle graphics and produce high cards per second. A video card for World of Tanks should be inexpensive and reliable. For medium settings, the optimal choice would be an inexpensive card of the GeForce GT 740 level. With such components, tanks will produce more than 60 FPS, which is quite enough for a comfortable game. But if you have the means and want to play at the highest settings, a good choice would be the GeForce GTX 960. In addition to tanks, such a video card will cope excellently with any modern games. If your games require maximum performance and the richest settings, you should give preference to the more powerful GTX 970 model. This card has established itself as a powerful and very productive gaming video card that can cope with all gaming tasks. The best manufacturers of video cards are MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte. It should be remembered that a good video card coupled with a weak processor will not be able to reveal its potential, therefore, for powerful video, an equally powerful processor is required.

Choosing RAM for World of Tanks

World of Tanks does not require too much RAM for fast operation and high FPS. One 4 GB memory stick will be enough. But more modern games are demanding on the amount of RAM. The best choice would be to buy 8 or 16 gigabytes of RAM. It is also worth remembering that 2 GB of RAM is not enough to play tanks, so the game may sometimes crash or work incorrectly. You also need to choose the right type of memory that is suitable for each processor. The choice of DDR3 or DDR4 directly depends on the motherboard and processor. We recommend giving preference to the following RAM manufacturers: Corsais, AMD and Crucial.

Selecting a hard drive for World of Tanks

The modern market is rich in a wide variety of hard drives. Some are faster, others are slower, etc. The optimal purchase of a HDD would be a disk with a capacity of at least 500 GB, in the middle price segment. If you plan to store a lot of information, photos, videos and games on your computer, you should look towards larger hard drives with a capacity of 1 TB. At the same time, to boot the system and play games as quickly as possible, the user should acquire a small SSD of at least 120 GB. This amount of memory will be enough to store the system and the game client, and this in turn will significantly speed up the launch speed.

Motherboard for World of Tanks

The choice of motherboard directly depends on the choice of processor. If you decide to buy a sixth-generation i3 or i6 processor, the optimal choice of motherboard will be an ATX with an H170 chipset. If you plan to overclock the system, you need to look towards the more interesting ATX with the Z170 chipset from MSI or ASUS. Gaming series boards from these manufacturers will be able to provide the user with high-quality sound, an excellent network card and excellent stability; in addition, these motherboards last a very long time and are quite suitable for overclocking the system.

Power supply, case and other components

You need to choose the right power supply for your system, which will ensure stable operation of the entire PC. A 600 W power supply from any well-known manufacturer like AeroCool or Cooler Master is perfect for the above components.

The rest of the equipment, such as the case, monitor, cooling system, monitor, etc., is selected based on the above equipment. A computer for world of tanks is not very expensive, but a very productive system that copes with all the tasks and works well in other games. If you follow this article, the user will be able to purchase the optimal build for their favorite game.

World of Tanks is not the most demanding game. It runs without problems on weak and medium-sized devices. True, the weaker the computer for World of Tanks, the more difficult it is to play - constant FPS drops and load times prevent you from fully enjoying the gameplay.

Buying a computer for World of Tanks is not an easy task. Your eyes widen when you see the huge number of parts required to operate a PC. And other questions haunt me: to assemble the device with my own hands or take a ready-made one? Should I buy a computer or laptop to play World of Tanks? Which manufacturer should you trust and which should you not?

However, the devil is not as scary as he is painted. If you thoroughly approach the solution to each of these issues, you will get the expected result - good performance at an adequate price. Let's try to figure out which computer is best suited for World of Tanks in 2019.

Attention! If you want to quickly move on to choosing a laptop or computer for the game, then just click the buttons below.

Computer requirements in Tanki

Although the official computer specifications for World of Tanks are listed on the official website (we have them too, see the sign), you should not rely entirely on this list. The dry numbers that guided the developers when drawing up the requirements for a World of Tanks computer do not always correspond to reality.

Some components from the list are already outdated (that is, they have been discontinued and are difficult to buy), others are not compatible with each other, and others are simply listed in bundles in which they cannot reveal their potential. That is why the parameters of the World of Tanks computer indicated in the table can be taken as a basis and become an approximate target designator, but not a full-fledged assembly instruction.

And finally, the minimum computer configuration for World of Tanks is truly minimal. There is no point in counting on tanks “flying” under such conditions. Maximum – 25-35 fps with a ping of 70-80. Since there is no need to talk about gaming comfort here, we will start from a build that provides at least 40 frames per second.

We assemble a computer for World of Tanks ourselves

The first step is to understand one thing: choosing the optimal computer for WoT is half the battle. No less important is the Internet. It is necessary to establish a stable and fast connection BEFORE purchasing a gaming device. The minimum speed suitable for comfortable gaming is 1024 kbps (1 Mbit/s). This is not a problem at all; every provider can offer a similar tariff.

Now that you have constant access to the network, you can begin selecting and purchasing components for a gaming computer for World of Tanks. The parts market offers a huge selection, from the cheapest to the most expensive components.

I’ll make a reservation right away. Because such components as:

  • Sound cards;
  • Network cards;
  • Housings;
  • Optical boards.

They do not affect performance in any way; they will not be discussed in detail. Choose any option based on two factors: budget (it’s still not worth buying an outright Chinese counterfeit) and compatibility with the motherboard.

Configuration from the video: Gygabyte B450M S2H motherboard, AMD Athlon 200GE OEM processor, 8 GB RAM (2 x 4 GB Patriot Viper Elite), Toshiba 1Tb HDD, Zalman T1 Plus case, FSP 300W power supply. Total ≈ $290

Let's start assembling:

  • Motherboard.

The motherboard is the foundation. All other components are attached to it, so you should choose it wisely. Since in the first assembly we are starting from a limited budget, it is better to purchase something from ASUS. This is exactly the case when they offer quite working things for a low price. There are quite a few options, but you should only pay attention to those that support DDR3 RAM sticks (less powerful, but cheaper)

  • CPU

The processor is not a key element of gaming, so you can save money on it. It all depends on personal preference.

  • Video card

A key element in any gaming computer. And, although tanks are not that demanding, for a full guarantee on a video card it is worth allocating up to 30 percent of all money. A motherboard from ASUS will fit better with a product from NVIDIA. At a minimal cost (7,000 rubles), you can purchase a powerful model with two gigabytes of memory and a decent bitrate.

  • RAM

Since we chose a motherboard with ddr3 support, we need to select the appropriate RAM. In principle, any model will suit you, but you need to start from four gigabytes (see the administration’s choice in the table)

  • Cooler

Coolers are quite cheap, but they are also important. The harder this element works, the more performance the processor will produce. Any model will do, the main thing is not too big to fit into the case.

Such an assembly for 2019 will cost $300-$375 (20-25 thousand rubles), such an amount can be saved relatively quickly. It is important to buy parts from trusted suppliers, so your computer will last longer. If you still have questions, look at the table (below) or ask in the comments, and we move on to analyzing a more expensive computer.

Average Gaming Computer for World of Tanks

The term “average” means a computer that can realistically be assembled for $525-$680 (35-45 thousand rubles). Again, only key details for gaming will be considered, so when calculating the full amount, take into account the cost of the case, network cards, monitor, etc.

  • Motherboard.

As your budget increases, you can start looking at motherboards from MSI, a company that rightfully occupies a leading position in the manufacture of purely gaming components. A model from ASUS would also be a good alternative. This time the RAM compatibility should be DDR4.

  • CPU

If you are an INTEL fan, then go for the i5. Otherwise, you can consider a product from AMD. Often, at the same price, they show slightly higher performance, but at the same time they heat up much more (which means you will have to buy a more powerful cooler)

  • Video card

If you use the old and convenient formula of 25-30 percent per video card, then you can reach a kind of fork in the road:

The first way.

Take a new video card, released 2 years ago. The price of hardware is falling quite quickly, so models that until recently were considered “top” are now available at a very reasonable price.

The second way.

If you know computer people, ask them to find something from a later release, but used. This option can only be used if you have 100% confidence in the suppliers.

  • RAM

8 gigabytes of capacity and DDR4 type are exactly what will ideally complement the above components.

  • Cooler

Its type depends on the processor. If you chose AMD, look for a more powerful option; something simpler will do for INTEL’s brainchild.

This build is the optimal computer for World of Tanks in 2019. It will allow the owner not only to play tanks at medium-high settings with a comfortable 60 frames per second, but also to join the world of gaming as a whole. Finally, you will be able to run GTA 5 and other popular games without a hit to performance.

Top Gaming Computer for World of Tanks

This build is for those who:

A) Has no or almost no restrictions on money;

B) Wants to run games at the highest settings (in the case of tanks, this is also an HD client)

It is worth adding separately that with such an assembly it makes no sense to save several hundred rubles on wiring, cooler, housing and other seemingly insignificant parts. A computer in this price category really should be “top” in everything.

  • Motherboard.

The most attractive motherboards for avid gamers are offered by three companies: ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte. Each of them does worthy things, but it’s preferable to go with the option from ASUS or MSI - these two companies have been working for a long time and managed to show themselves in a positive light

  • CPU

At this level, INTEL processors are superior to their competitors. It's worth getting a newer i7.

  • Video card

The starting point is 8 gigabytes of memory. Video cards that deserve to be called truly top-end are produced by NVIDIA Corporation. It is her latest creations that deserve attention.

  • RAM

The highest positions are shared by Kingston, Team Group and Crucial. In general, 16 gigabytes is enough for tanks, but since the motherboard and budget allow, take 32 gigabytes.

  • Cooler

Of course, components operating at high power will heat up. Therefore, it is worth choosing a highly efficient cooler.

Once again, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that if you prefer a desktop PC, then you should purchase the parts separately. This will allow you not only to save money, but also to choose the optimal configuration for your device. If you doubt your abilities or are not well versed in technology, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the editor’s choice.

Laptop for World of Tanks

PCs are ahead of laptops in all respects. For less money they show better performance, but desktop computers have one major drawback - they are not mobile.

If you travel a lot, or are simply used to having an Internet connection at hand, you should opt for a laptop computer. Moreover, their popularity has grown recently, which means manufacturers are trying to expand the range of manufactured devices for all users.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to assemble a laptop from individual components - they are sold only in completely finished form. When choosing a good laptop for World of Tanks, you can only rely on the popularity of the brand and reviews on the Internet. Well, perhaps a couple of recommendations:

  • The video card in a laptop should not be integrated.

To put it simply, it should be something from nVidia. Integrated INTEL video cards do not provide adequate performance.

Laptop HP OMEN 15-dc0007ur Price ≈ 1900 $ (used ≈ 1200 $) Intel Core i7 8750H 2200 MHz / 15.6" / 1920x1080 / 16GB / 1256GB HDD+SSD / DVD no / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Windows 10 Home

With such laptops, there will be no shame in showing the enemy who is in charge on the battlefield.

Computer for streaming World of Tanks

Streaming is an activity that is quickly gaining popularity. It may seem strange, but different levels of streamers require different computer configurations. Let's see what computers can be like for streaming World of Tanks.

For a beginner in this business, it will be enough to have a computer described above as an average gaming computer and also a webcam. With this kit you can start going live and collecting subscribers.

If streams gain popularity, the gaming kit will have to be seriously improved. Firstly, for simultaneous play, chatting, donation control and broadcast quality, you need at least two monitors. The “average” one cannot cope with them, so everything will need to be upgraded completely. A computer designated in the table as top-end will withstand such a load, but it would be nice to have additional RAM and a video card.

After reading this article, you can safely consider yourself savvy in the field of how to build a computer for World of Tanks. If you have any questions or comments about the content, ask them in the comments. We will be happy to help you.

World of Tanks was released in 2010. It was know-how; no one had ever made a game like this before. The user finds himself in an environment where:

  • can be played for free;
  • there are simple controls;
  • investing money does not provide advantages in battle;
  • they let you ride on World War II tanks;
  • The duration of the battle is maximum 15 minutes.

By 2013, there were already 60 million registrations across the planet, taking into account the console and mobile versions. In 2014, the counter exceeded 100 million. Even people far from the computer world began to play tanks. In 2017, at CEE, the developers presented the research results to the audience. More than half of the players are men from 24 to 60 years old, and 70% have higher education. 90% play on their home PC, and 70% discuss it with friends.

System requirements for World of Tanks

In 2018, World of Tanks 1.0 was released with the largest graphics update. The game began to meet modern quality standards. And the maximum system requirements immediately increased. You can play on weak machines, but owners of gaming PCs will see a more beautiful picture.

The weak point of Tanks is the processor. Even on the old version, the requirements were above average. The video card is also important, but for weak cards there is an SD client with average quality textures. The HD client is 20 GB larger than the original game, with high-resolution textures. To play on this, you need a powerful video card.

Minimum System Requirements

The bare minimum, HD resolution and minimal graphics settings.

  • OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10
  • Processor: dual core
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Video card: GeForce 6800 / ATI HD 2400 XT or better with DirectX 9.0c support
  • Disk space: 36 GB

Maximum system requirements

With this configuration, you can play in QHD resolution on “ultra” graphics settings and an HD client.

  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Video card: GeForce GTX 1050ti / Radeon RX 570 or better with DirectX 11 support
  • Disk space: 55 GB

What type of computer should you have for World of Tanks?

System requirements are specified taking into account a perfectly clean operating system. That is, the minimum configuration is not enough for normal operation. As mentioned above, 90% of users play from home. This means that in addition to the game, the computer usually runs other programs: instant messengers, browser, antivirus, etc. Advanced gamers also have a program for optimizing games (GeForce Experience).

Each of them uses RAM and processor power, albeit a little. All this is not taken into account on test benches when measuring the minimum required computer power.

To view a message or switch tracks, you need to minimize the game. To prevent this process from being delayed, it is important to have a powerful computer. You can install two monitors, but the required power will increase.

How to choose a video card for World of Tanks?

The table shows a test of NVIDIA GeForce video cards in World of Tanks 1.0 at “ultra” settings.

How much video memory do you need?

  • UHD (4K) – 4 GB
  • QHD – 3 GB
  • FHD – 2 GB

Graphic arts

For complete comfort you need a large monitor. The graphics of World of Tanks are modern and made at the highest level. With higher resolution, details are visible better. The best choice is 4K, you will be able to see every speck of dust that flies out from under the tracks of your steel monster.

For World of Tanks, a stable 60 FPS is enough. However, monitors with a higher frequency will be able to convey visual effects better.

For the picture to be of maximum quality, the monitor and video card must match each other. For example, if you have a monitor with 144Hz, you need a video card that can produce that many frames. On the other hand, if your video card produces 180 FPS, but your monitor only produces 60, then you will not see a difference in performance.

How to choose a processor for World of Tanks?

The game is very demanding on the processor. For normal operation, you need a model no lower than i5-7400; it will be enough for games and background applications. You can comfortably play at high settings in FullHD resolution and use background programs.

Recording video puts more stress on the machine than just playing a game. An i7-6700k or better is suitable for such purposes. This is a popular model, bloggers and streamers often use it on their PCs.

How much RAM do you need?

Even at the highest graphics settings, the game and Windows use a little more than 4 GB of memory. But for a modern computer this is catastrophically small. It is advisable that you have at least 8 GB of RAM.

If you plan to play on QHD or UHD, then 8 GB is not enough. It's enough for tanks, but other games use more memory at high settings. This resolution requires a minimum of 16 GB.

Is it worth getting an SSD for World of Tanks?

An SSD drive is essential for a gaming machine. Most often, HDD and SSD are installed together. A 240 GB high-speed disk is enough for the system and a couple of games, and a regular disk is used to store large files. Buying a computer will be cheaper; in terms of cost per gigabyte, an SSD drive costs 2-3 times more than a good HDD.

How to build a computer for World of Tanks yourself?

You need to select components in this order:

  • CPU;
  • motherboard;
  • RAM;
  • video card;
  • HDD;
  • case and power supply.

All components must be equal in power; if the processor is too weak, it will not be able to load the video card 100%, it will work at half capacity. Fast gaming RAM strips will operate at lower frequencies due to the fact that they are limited by the processor or motherboard.

The components may not fit together physically. For example, each motherboard has its own form factor. Gaming video cards are never small; stores list their length; the card must fit into the case and not impede the air flow.

Powerful components produce a lot of heat and need to be cooled. The video card and processor have their own independent cooling systems. In order for them to receive cold air, you need to adjust the air flow in the case.

Once a certain threshold is passed, the air cooling power may not be sufficient. In addition, a dozen fans can make a lot of noise. Water cooling can help here.

The most difficult thing is to choose components in the same style. The main crutch of self-assembled PCs is appearance.

Hello tankers! Since tanks appeared, I have often been asked, what kind of computer do I need for World of Tanks? And I decided to prepare a universal article with tips on buying a gaming computer in three categories, in fact, below you will learn about it.

But if you decide to figure it out yourself, then let’s start analyzing several options, and you can choose the one that suits you.

To play at your maximum

The graphics, set to their fullest, are very pleasing with their beauty. The WoT developers tried and worked out everything down to the smallest detail, but not everyone saw all this beauty.

If you have a desire to play without thinking about FPS, then I recommend choosing a computer based on these parameters:

Now let's decipher it.

  • I recommend choosing a processor from the Intel family and taking the latest generation of the i5 or i7 line. Frequency - the higher the better
  • The video card should ideally have a chip from Nvidia and preferably no lower than GTX750ti, or better yet GTX950 and definitely 2Gb of memory
  • It is also better to take reliable RAM, for example from Corsair or OCZ, and it is advisable that these be sets of 2 or 4 modules. Typically they will work great together.

I deliberately do not write down the specific names of the components, because every six months the situation changes, the main thing for you is to know where to aim when choosing, the store will help you do the rest.

For playing on medium settings

If you have a more modest budget, then you can avoid overpaying for expensive components and build an average gaming computer that can easily handle World of Tanks on average.

  • Again, I advise you to take the processor from the manufacturer Intel; a core i3 of the latest generation or something from the Pentium Gxxxx series will suffice (instead of 4 X’s there is usually a digital model designation)
  • In this case, the video card must have at least 1Gb of DDR5 memory. The best option would be something like a GTX660 or GTX750.
  • 4Gb of RAM will be enough, but I advise you to take a frequency of at least 1600Mhz

But here the savings will be not only due to the listed three components, you can also install a cheaper mATX motherboard, a less powerful power supply, and in the end you will get an average but productive machine with an affordable price.

For playing at low settings

If you need a computer for WoT, but want to make small sacrifices, then the following option will serve as a great starting point.

  • Look for a processor among the Intel Pentium Gxxxx - they are inexpensive, but among them there are options close to the core i3
  • You can take a video card with 1G DDR3 memory, but be sure to make sure that the bus width is 128bit (if they push you with 64bit, send all the sellers to the woods)
  • I advise you not to skimp on RAM and take 4Gb with the same frequency of 1600Mhz, you will spend 1000 more, but the computer will work an order of magnitude faster

I say this based on personal experience, having worked for more than 5 years in a computer store, I often met people who bought computer equipment and were ultimately disappointed that they could have saved significantly if they had sought advice from a specialist before purchasing.

Do you have any questions? Ask in the comments. I'll try to answer them, or maybe even find the best build for you.

With this I say goodbye to you, be careful when purchasing equipment and then it will delight you for many years.
