Review of the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Review of the game CS:GO (Counter-strike: Global offensive) Review of the game counter strike global offensive

Good day, Gamebomb users. This is my review of Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

What is Counter Strike?

This is a first-person shooter, where two teams are opposed, these are Counter-Terrorists (Special Forces) and Terrorists, this war has been going on since CS 1.6. CS is one of the most popular shooters of our time, where you need composure, accuracy and the ability to play in a team. The game has several game modes, some of the most popular, well for me for sure, is the scenario with a bomb explosion and hostage taking, let me tell you what these two modes are.

Bomb scenario

In this mode, terrorists must plant a bomb, at point A or B, one of the players is given a bomb at the beginning of the round, he can give it to another, and so, as soon as you plant the bomb, the countdown begins until it explodes, the special forces team must clear it, that is, terrorists in this mode defend it, and special forces, on the contrary, attack. There are a lot of rounds in the game, so if you don’t succeed once, then there are another 10 or more in stock. If I'm not mistaken, there are only 15 rounds in the game.

Hostage Scenario

In this mode, a group of special forces must capture a hostage and take him to their base, while a group of terrorists must defend him and not give him into the hands of the special forces. There is not one, or even two, hostages in the game, but if the special forces take at least one to the base, then that’s it, they won. So the terrorists have a difficult task, but if they are a good team, and not crayfish who can’t even hit someone from a meter away, then they have every chance of winning. This mode also has more than one round, so there is always a chance to win.

Maps, weapons, etc.

The game has a good selection of weapons, at the beginning of each round both teams can purchase by pressing a certain button, a selection wheel appears in front of you, there you can buy assault rifles, heavy weapons, pistols, sniper rifles, various grenades (regular, Molotov, flashlights , smoke, etc.), body armor, stun gun, and various tools (for example, for quickly taking a hostage). The more people you kill, the more money you are given, and if your team wins this round, then the whole team will be given money, and the team that lost will be given less money. There are enough maps in the game, some are popular, like dust 2, and some are not very good, but there are enough of them.

Casino

And there is also a “casino” in the game, that is, in the menu, you open boxes, unless of course you have a key to it, the key costs around 80 rubles, which is quite a lot, and you may come across some cool trunk that you can even sell it for real money, only they are credited to you only on Steam, and you can’t withdraw them, and you might also get some kind of shit for three rubles, a cheap weapon, and not particularly beautiful, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get some a rare item, that is, a knife, for example, a karmabit, a bayonet or some other, the cost of such knives can be as much as 14 thousand and probably more, I admit, I myself once tried to knock out a cool weapon, and for my first time, good luck to me smiled, I got a gun for about 2500 rubles, I sold it for 2000 thousand, the guy who bought it paid 2300 for it. Well, that is, you may or may not be lucky, I advise you not to gloat about it, because you can waste all your money and not get anything worthy.

Graphic arts

The graphics in the game are good, the game is made on the Source engine, and it seems to be friendly with weak computers, but, of course, not the weakest. So, I'm not complaining about the graphics.

Bottom line

The game has very interesting gameplay that requires you to be precise and team play, good graphics, and it is a decent game from the Counter Strike series, I haven't played much of it, only 71 hours. There are also those who have spent 1000 or more hours in it, but the game can drag you in for many hours.

GAME FORMULA

This summer Counter-Strike turned thirteen years old. "Contra" began with a modification to Half-Life, built on sheer enthusiasm, but now it is one of the main disciplines of eSports. And for us, without exaggeration, it is the most “popular” eSports equipment.

Although there have long been fresher and prettier versions of Contra in the wild, players still won’t lag behind the antediluvian CS 1.6. She is, they say, the most correct. Therefore on Global Offensive they shouldered an almost impossible burden: to prove to retrogrades that new things can also be good. And correct.

Headshot in his ass!

Counter-Strike fans are a special audience. Many of them are still arguing about the superiority of version 1.5 over 1.6, let alone a complete remake on a new engine! The last attempt to replace the obsolete 1.6 happened in 2004 and rather failed: Counter-Strike: Source looked great and sported plausible physics, but eSports players vehemently rejected it. And they say they run around here in the wrong way, and the grenades don’t fly in the right way...

Source and GO are separated by eight years. Valve had plenty of time to weigh, comprehend and create a sane remake in which everything would be Right. And therefore the basic concept in GO has not moved a millimeter: two teams of five (or more) people, “villains” and fighters against terrorism. They fight until the last survivor. Terrorists mainly amuse themselves by blowing up key points and holding hostages, while the “forces of good” try to free the hostages and defuse the bomb and its owners. And in no case is it the other way around.

The secret of Counter-Strike's popularity is its simplicity (although there is always room for honing your skills), so it would be foolish to expect skills, upgrades and piloted equipment in GO. Purchase weapons at the beginning of the round and run and kill your enemies - it’s much easier! There is not even an aiming mode by right-clicking the mouse: we shoot on the move, the old fashioned way.

The radial menu for purchasing weapons and equipment is much more convenient than the lists of guns from 1.6 and CS: Source. By the way, the illustration shows an AWP rifle, popularly nicknamed the “elephant killer” for its deadly power. Global Offensive offers players the most diverse arsenal in the history of Contra. Here it is - almost completely hung on the wall.

Twice the terror!

There are now four main modes - this is an official record for CS. To classic fun in the format " hold or rescue hostages" or " plant or defuse explosives» added ex-modification GunGame, which is now called “ Arms race" All players on the map start the battle with pistols, and for kills they instantly receive more powerful “guns”. The one who first scored a frag from each gun (26 in total) and stabbed the last victim with a knife wins the round.

You can win the “Arms Race” only by stabbing your enemy with a special “golden knife”.

The second new product is “ Destroying an object" This is a two-minute blitzkrieg for two teams. One is trying to blow up a key point, and the other is preventing it. The fights take place on small maps, where there are a lot of spots and “camper” positions. These locations are painfully similar to network cards from Modern Warfare. And in terms of dynamics, the action looks like a regime Domination from Unreal Tournament. There is only one control point on the map - each team must get to it first and hold it.

Also in Global Offensive (for the first time in CS!) a training mode appeared. " Briefing"Teaches you how to handle bombs, shoot through cover, and quickly switch between a pistol and a machine gun. One thing confused me: the weapons course and especially the obstacle course are strongly reminiscent of the same Modern Warfare. A tribute to fashion, nothing less.

Hands remember

The shabby and worn AK-47 retains the title of a super-powerful machine gun, from which only professionals can shoot accurately.

The old modes are now available in two variations: simpler and “just right.” A friendly "casual" mode disables shooting at teammates, allows you to pass through them, and provides both sides with free armor. In the “correct” mode, they don’t make such concessions, but they reward you more generously for murders and constantly keep you in suspense.

The maps are familiar to everyone from the beta version of CS, CS 1.6 and CS: Source. Italy with its narrow streets and nervous hens, the memorable suspension bridge and sewer ditch on Aztec, the urbanized Office with business hostages in ties, the tandem of the Middle Eastern Dust and Dust2, as well as the widespread championship trinity Train, Inferno and Nuke.

All of them are traditionally divided by task, and for some reason there are only two maps with hostages - Office and Italy. Left behind were the hit Militia (and it didn’t miss a single version of CS!), Assault and Estate. But it is likely that they will return in updates. Along with a zombie mode, the release of which was planned to coincide with the release of the game.

According to legend, Left 4 Dead appeared just thanks to Counter-Strike. One small modification prohibited bots from using firearms and only armed them with knives. Doomed to rush into close combat, the bots were very reminiscent of fast zombies from L4D. This is how the concept of the popular zombie shooter was born: machine guns and shotguns against claws and teeth. And many years later, CS returned the favor with kindness.

Global Offensive has two maps modeled after L4D campaigns. The first one is a copy of the swamp village from Swamp Fever (L4D2). Observant players will also notice a small yacht from The Sacrifice campaign. Another map directly quotes the episode Death Toll (L4D): there is a lakeside house where the fighters against the infected had to defend themselves until the rescue ship arrived.

And this is not the first gaming crossover with Valve's participation. A couple of months ago, a co-op action movie Payday: The Heist has acquired a No Mercy campaign, which indirectly touches on the theme of the “green flu” from L4D. I wonder what this is: ordinary fan service or the beginning of a global multiverse named after Gabe Newell?..

5-1, 4-4, 3-1 and other favorites

The Aztec map now lives up to its name more than ever. A real sacrificial temple also appeared on it!

GO refused to follow fashion: there is no leveling up outside of battles, and the sides start each fight on equal terms. Money in CS is earned by killing enemies and tactical maneuvers like planting a bomb or rescuing hostages. At the beginning of the round (the party consists of several), weapons, armor and grenades are purchased with blood money. Among the latter, hot new items debuted: Molotov cocktails and flammable grenades, which can be used to easily block corridors and set fire to unwary militants.

They come with fake grenades that imitate the sounds of the thrower's weapon - this can be useful, since experienced players often rely on sound. In addition, the Zeus x27 electric shock has appeared, killing at point-blank range with one hit. One problem - it's disposable. If you miss, the shocker will be wasted and the fighter will be left empty-handed. For a couple of moments, but still... Online, even such a delay is enough for the enemy, so the benefit of “Zeus” is still extremely doubtful. But death from it is almost more humiliating than from a knife.

Back to the Orcs

The pros are fighting again, everything is not the same for them again, not as before...

But nevertheless, “loyalty to traditions” is the main feature of GO. This is both an advantage and its main drawback. Essentially, we got the same CS: Source with improved graphics, physics and integration with current Steam services. Plus - updated maps and an expanded arsenal. The developers combined modern technologies with nostalgia for the old CS, but did not invent anything fundamentally new.

Special forces are ready to free the hostages on the Office map. By the way, you can play around with it: smashing a dozen windows during a round gives you a special achievement.

GO truly takes you back in time. It’s as if the last twelve years never happened and you’re back in the early 2000s. You sit in the smoky room of the first computer club in the Russian Federation “Orki”, nervously wondering how much time is left and whether it’s time to go home. And a cry is heard above your ear: “The elephant is guarding his gut!”...

By the way, translated into Russian this means “the owner of a heavy sniper rifle shoots through the ventilation shaft.” And if you already understood everything without translation, welcome home.

Hi all. Gamebizclub team is in touch. In June of this year, computer sports in Russia moved to a new stage of development. E-sports was included in the register of official sports. One of the most popular disciplines in this direction is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Championships are held regularly, and prizes for winning range from several thousand to a million dollars.

Today we are publishing a review of CS GO, where we will talk about the game as a whole and explain the reasons for its popularity. And at the end we will give one life hack - read carefully.

From this article you will learn:

A little about the basics of the game

First, a small guide for beginners. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a multiplayer online first-person shooter. The release date for CS GO is August 2012. More than four years have passed, but the game remains popular today: various tournaments and competitions attract an audience of millions from different countries.

The main idea of the game is to conduct a counter-terrorist operation in a separate location. Terrorists and special forces are participating in the operation. Terrorists must detonate a bomb, hold hostages, or kill the special forces, and the special forces must prevent the terrorists from carrying out their plans.

The fighting takes place on maps, where each team must complete a specific task. To complete it, you will have to try - other players will interfere with all their might, shoot from around every corner, throw grenades and come from the flanks and attack from the back.

CS: GO is a logical continuation of CS 1.6 and Source. The developers combined all the best, improved the gameplay and added the game to Steam. New realistic graphics and detailed maps allow each user to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of confrontation.

No shooter is complete without cool guns, and CS: GO is no exception. Terrorists and special forces have weapons for every taste in their arsenal: pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, automatic and sniper rifles. The most popular are AK-47, M4A4, M4A4-S, AWP, Scar 20. Note that every player must learn to shoot accurately from all types of weapons - it is not always possible to buy a favorite gun.

To make it more comfortable for users to compete, the game has a system of titles and ranks that shows the level of skill. This system allows gamers of the same level to fight against players just like them. The rank increases when you receive the next level. To gain a level you need to fight and earn experience for victories and defeats.

There are 18 stages of development in total. Accordingly, the higher the level, the greater the authority. There is also a system of profile ranks. For each increase in such a rank, Steam gives a bonus in the form of a skin or graffiti.

What's new?

The principles have not changed - buy weapons and immediately go into battle. The main changes are related to gameplay. Compared to CS 1.6 and Source, Valve studio:

  • Changed the accuracy of some types of weapons.
  • Added incendiary grenades.
  • We introduced the ability to change the appearance of weapons - so-called skins.
  • We have combined transactions for the purchase and sale of skins, graffiti and other attributes on the Steam trading platform. Now you can buy or sell an item for rubles, and spend the profit from the sale on another game.
  • Tournaments and championships have been improved - now you can watch team battles live, take part in tournaments, and even broadcast video of your game to other people.

The main difference is the official Global Offensive modes. There are five of them in total, and in each one a person must complete a specific task:

  • Competitive - a small championship spirit of teams of five people.
  • Normal – standard mode, as in previous versions.
  • Arms Race – chaotic mode with instant respawn and random weapons.
  • Deathmatch – a battle between two teams, instant respawn. Weapons improve after one or two frags.
  • Destruction of an object is the same fight to the death, plus you need to complete a combat mission.

CS GO has become more realistic, the graphics are pleasing to the eye and do not spoil the experience of the game. The design of maps, weapons and models has been redesigned so that the game resembles a real picture of combat operations. Let's give an example: Dust 2 resembles the dilapidated Aleppo, and Office is a provincial city somewhere in the northern USA.

Pros and reasons for popularity

Since 2012, CS GO has acquired almost 14 million users. People's interest is explained by the simplicity of the gameplay, quick adaptation, and the team spirit of competition.

Main advantages of CS:GO:

  • Intuitive interface that does not cause problems even for novice users.
  • Regular updates, in which developers improve balance and fix bugs, make the game better.
  • Since the first version, Counter-Strike has won love among players, which only intensified with each new part of the game.
  • The introduction of skins attracted a large number of players who had previously avoided this shooter.
  • Various organizations hold tournaments with prizes ranging from 10 thousand to a million dollars.

And cons

There are several issues that players are facing in CS:GO. For many people, the main problem is the cost of Counter-Strike. The price of a license key on Steam is 449 rubles. It doesn’t seem like much, but people prefer to look for pirated content and download hacked versions from torrents. If you go this route, you won’t be able to play on official servers.

Shooting is a challenge for beginners. It will take a lot of time and effort spent training on aim maps. The same applies to general training - by devoting a few hours a day, a person will be able to achieve good results in a few months. And after that you can already try your hand at various tournaments.

It is difficult to adapt - at first it will be very difficult to hit or destroy someone. Different people play on the servers, but most of them are experienced players who send 3-5 people to reps per round. Therefore, first you need to properly practice fighting with bots, understand the interface and learn how to shoot, and only then move on to online battles with other people. But at the same time, in online battles with other people, you can quickly understand the tactics and features of shooting from different weapons.

Eventually

CS GO is much better than previous versions when you compare graphics, design and gameplay. The entire series became popular back in 2000, and now the complexity and entertainment have increased several times. The main “tricks” remained unchanged - tactics, teamwork and shooting accuracy.

Life hack - you can get the most experience in competitive mode. Experience for two or three won matches, taking into account increasing coefficients, is enough for one level. Try to get as many frags as possible and win. But even if you lose, you will receive more experience than for winning in any other mode.

To achieve good results, you need to train a lot and hone your skills. Ordinary players buy the most expensive weapons and go into battle, while professionals fight with one weapon all the time and train to shoot accurately and avoid enemy fire. It's difficult, but very interesting.

We have prepared a series of articles on CS: GO for beginners and experienced players. In the next issues we will talk about setting up the config, console commands and cheats, explain how to win at roulette, and reveal the secrets and nuances of the game. Stay in touch. If you have anything to add, write your opinions and reviews in the comments. Good luck everyone, bye bye.

There are icon projects in the gaming industry. Created during the time of ancient ancestors, they are able to excite the minds of contemporaries. Such products can be counted with the fingers of one hand, but they have all the more significant significance for history. Counter Strike. Like a jack-in-the-box, a third-party mod for Half-Life captivated the minds of millions of users, setting an unattainable level of quality. Repeating the success of the original is an impossible task, but Valve wouldn't be Valve, they don’t dare to reach this height.

It shouldn't be taken as an apology. Having sponsored the competition and spent money on marketing Sorsa, Valve finally instilled it in the players. It’s a gift that this was not just a shot in the bull’s eye, but frankly in the milk: only the laziest of the 1.6 veterans did not give a damn about the project with sophisticated graphics for that time. Meanwhile, the developer’s business was going quite well, people were playing all types of Contra, which seemed to indicate that Source"Ov's success.

WITH CS:GO the situation is a little different. Aimed at rethinking canonical values, Valve was going to wrap the same cake for the players, but in a different package. The goal is quite lofty, but in the end the list of changes turned the cake... into a strudel. So that the metaphor doesn’t turn your head, let’s clarify: strudel is a tasty dish, but not a cake.

The plot in the game is still as deep and multifaceted as in all its predecessors: groups of terrorists and counter-terrorists converge on the battlefield to sort things out. Receiving money for killing or winning a round, team members purchase weapons to the extent of their financial security. Yes, the terrorists still want to blow up the Mexican Indian reservations with a bomb, and the counter-terrorists are still not ready to allow this, it couldn’t be otherwise. However, citing the qualities of a canonical game is not enough to claim one of the most anticipated games of the year. Distinguishing qualities come into play Global Offensive.

The lion's share of mechanics Counter-Strike accounts for the characteristics of the weapon. And in this regard, the newborn Contra took a much greater step than CS:Source. The team's main guns, the M4A1 and AK-47, are no longer as advantageous for long-range use. But it’s not only for this factor that Madame Realism patted the game designers from Valve on the back: shotguns, having significantly increased their power, can finally do their part in close combat. In addition to the advantage in quality, shotguns have also been added in quantity - to the Nova and XM1014, one model has been added for each opposing side.

The changes affected not only rifles and shotguns. The Tec-9 semi-automatic pistol and P2000 will replace starting barrels for terrorists and counter-terrorists, respectively. Also for both teams, the P228 will be replaced by the P250. The Desert Eagle returns to its canonical name, but the local unseen, Zeus x27, deserves the closest attention. Located among the grenades during purchase, the very close-range pistol is able to neutralize the target with one salvo, but after that it immediately flies out of the hands - one shot per round on his brother, no more. In addition, the line of submachine guns has also undergone changes. Everything is aimed at ensuring that each of the weapons finds its owner.

The best way to try out new guns is the new game mode, which has been familiar for a long time, but has only now been included in the official release. In it, opposing sides meet wall to wall, and for each kill the player is given a new weapon. The winner is the one who is the first to make a kill with each gun, of which there are 26, including the knife. It is clear that the user will not find any monetary earnings, just like the purchasing menu, in this mode. But seeing the latter in classic mode, an old-school gamer may be slightly taken aback. The point is not at all that the weapon table is now a circle - this decision can be supported to encourage their console brethren, with whom cross-platform battles are planned to begin in the near foreseeable future. The fact is that the entire canonical layout of product numbers has been changed, seasoned players will have to get used to the innovations.

For the sake of casual purchasing, the stocking of cartridges was also canceled - I bought an M-16, and forward to the front line with a full horn of ammunition. This advanced one is represented by the same Source engine, which has gained some weight since 2004. No matter how Valve promises to get rid of third-party objects on the maps, the battlefields are still filled with all kinds of barrels and other rubbish that complicate the perception of the picture. Weak textures have never been a problem Counter-Strike, therefore in Global Offensive are not perceived as something awkward.

Another thing that will make old-school gamers turn up their noses at GO just like from Source, these are character models. Terrorists and law enforcement fighters opposing them seem to have stepped off the covers of glossy magazines. Smooth, even and clean, representatives of both teams are barely distinguishable from long distances. In addition, the developer did not listen to the pro-gamers testing the beta version who asked about reducing the size of the models. After all, the proportions of the game were already drawn up, and changing the size of the characters would also entail changing the cards. In addition, the current scale of the game is designed to include the same console users into the process. A system for changing difficulty has been developed for them - smart Global Offensive is aware of the player’s level, and selects an online battle to match his abilities.

Another wave of bewilderment is coming from grenade innovations. Meet the dummy grenade. Fiction. Props. Rushing towards the place of the throw, it sparks and farts, making sounds a little similar to the sound of shooting. In theory, a fake toast is born to create confusion in the enemy’s camp, and indeed it does - only when you see one on the battlefield, you can be plunged into a misunderstanding of who came up with the idea of buying such a thing. Another innovation in the pomegranate field is the Molotov cocktail. Having closed your eyes to the ability of a cocktail to bounce off walls, you can remain face-to-face with its theoretical capabilities - setting fire to a place on the map without letting adversaries pass along the burning path. If the innovation is mastered by gamers, it may well change the usual gameplay C.S..

Of course, the quality level of the original was not surpassed. Any changes turn the project into “wrong”, and leaving the game without innovation from the outside Valve would be to subscribe to our own lack of ideas. Much more significant than Source, CS:GO comes as close to the original game as possible. Needless to say, this “close” is far away. A worthy successor to the family, Global Offensive is not going to be shy about its weaknesses: the project will still be cited both in the circles of old-school gamers and among the younger generation of users.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is another attempt, after Counter-Strike: Source, to refresh the popular shooter, which began as a modification of Half-Life. And as the five years that have passed since its release have shown, this attempt turned out to be very successful. True, in 2017, “pubga” began to step on the heels of “contra” - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

In Counter-Strike games, terrorists and special forces confront each other, receiving a cash reward for each enemy they kill, in order to purchase new guns, grenades and armor in the next round. In CS: GO, the list of available weapons was expanded with a Molotov cocktail, a decoy grenade, an IMI Negev light machine gun, Tec-9 and PP-19 “Bison” submachine guns, Mag-7 and Sawed-Off pump-action shotguns, as well as a Taser electric shock pistol.

There are six main modes: “Training”, “Classic”, “Competitive”, “Arms Race”, “Object Destruction” and “Deathmatch”. “Competitive” is a complicated classic, where friendly fire and collisions are enabled (you cannot pass through allies). In Arms Race, you need to get to the most powerful weapon faster than others, getting a new one after each kill. In "Object Destruction", the terrorists win only after successfully detonating the bomb, and the special forces team only win after defusing it. As for Deathmatch, this is a standard multiplayer mode, where everyone fights for themselves, and not as part of teams.

The base seven maps in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are re-drawn classic levels like Aztec, Nuke, Inferno, Italy, Office or the legendary Dust2. All of them have grown in detail, but are recognizable at first sight. And what’s interesting is that the fighters’ appearance depends on their weather conditions. So on snowy maps, special forces and terrorists run around in winter jackets, and on hot Dust2 they wear lighter clothes.

However, the main innovation in CS: GO is skins for weapons, on which you can even earn real money. There is not a lot of information on the Internet about how this all works, but we still tried to collect everything that is known especially for you.

What are skins and where can I get them?

Skins are a unique coloring for weapons. In 2013, cases with skins were introduced in one of the updates. Cases are awarded for successful play in Global Offensive, but to open they require keys that can be purchased in the in-game store. It is unknown which skin will drop. Another way is to purchase used skins in the game itself or in one of the third-party stores.

What do skins give to their owner?

The standard coloring of machine guns, pistols and knives is becoming boring. And with skins, weapons look more elegant. In theory, this only provides a cosmetic effect, but sometimes there are camouflage paint schemes that could theoretically make the player a little less noticeable on some maps. There are also skins that have a built-in kill counter (resets to zero after sale).

Is it true that the purchased skin gradually wears off?

Skins wear out as they are used in matches, but they cannot completely disappear from the weapon (they will most likely become unnoticeable). The degree of wear and tear seriously affects the resale price on the secondary market. True, some players even like slightly worn coloring - this adds authenticity.

Why are some skins more valuable than others?

Almost all skins that fall out of cases are the result of the creativity of players who know how to work with graphics. Before entering the game, they undergo a special selection that determines the level of quality. The higher a candidate is rated, the rarer the category he will fall into (which means he can be sold at a higher price).

How to make money on skins?

There are four main ways: selling dropped skins, reselling or exchanging others’ skins, and creating your own.

If a player receives a rare or unnecessary custom skin, he can put it up for auction in the game itself or on one of the third-party stores. In the first case, the money received from the sale will remain in the Steam wallet, and in the second, it can be withdrawn to a bank card (this is completely legal).

When reselling, the player will have to monitor price movements on the market and buy up profitable offers, in order to then wait for increased demand and remain in the black. And when exchanging, you can get rid of a bunch of “cheap” items that have fallen out, replacing them with something valuable. That is, the resale of skins in the latest Counter-Strike is a kind of game on the stock exchange, and the exchange of skins is a type of trading.

As for creating your own skins, you need to know Photoshop, have a sense of taste and a little luck - then the work will be approved for adding to the game, and the creator will receive a percentage of the sale. Among CS:GO fans there are even legends about artists who draw two skins a month and earn hundreds of thousands of dollars.
