Mobile Internet in Crimea: features of work. How does Tele2 communication work in Crimea?

It is still impossible to buy a Tele2 SIM card in Crimea at the beginning of 2019 from official representatives. Today, roaming tariffs apply to all Tele2 subscribers on the peninsula. In Crimea, Tele2, like other cellular communication providers in the Russian Federation, fulfills its obligations to subscribers through the Win Mobile operator.

How the connection works

It is difficult to ensure a stable connection through roaming. Many subscribers complain about . Despite this, the cellular communications of the Tele2 operator on the peninsula have a large unofficial service area. Officially, the Republic of Crimea is not included in the Republic of Crimea, however, the operator fulfills its obligations to subscribers. You can reach or call from almost any part of Tavrida. It is worth noting that in 2017, Tele2 communications in the region, according to subscriber reviews, worked worse than in the previous year.

Tariffing of calls and SMS messages on the territory of the republic

In 2019, the Tele2 operator in Crimea has the following cellular prices:

The company offers its subscribers to save on incoming calls while roaming with the “Like at home in Crimea” discount. Under the terms of the option, all incoming messages will be free, and the cost of the service will be 6 rubles. per day. Read further in the article for more details.

An operator with “Other rules” for its subscribers provides free calls within the network throughout the country. How much will it cost to connect to Crimea on Tele2 from your home region? Absolutely free. After all, the company provides its subscribers with unlimited communication within the network, including the territory of the peninsula.

Mobile Internet

As already mentioned, mobile Internet costs 3 rubles. for 1 megabyte of Internet traffic. The 3G and 4G coverage area is quite small. Local operators have much better access to the network. To connect Tele2 Internet on the territory of the republic, you need to enable the “data roaming” option in the settings.

Access to the worldwide network is provided through roaming from the Win Mobile operator. Most smartphone manufacturers, in order to save their customers money, have introduced a separate function that does not allow the device to access the Internet while roaming, without the user’s permission.

The operator itself has developed a separate service “Unlimited Internet in Crimea”. Under its terms, the subscriber receives:

  • unlimited Internet access;
  • the first 200 MB are not limited in speed, then no more than 128 Kbps;
  • only on the day of going online.

The service costs 300 rubles. for one day. The first connection is free, for re-activation you will have to pay 300 rubles.

Service management:

  • activate — *143*51#;
  • disable — *143*50#;
  • status check - *143*5#;

“Like at home in Crimea” service

Tele2 offers the option “Like home in Crimea”, this offer cancels the fee for incoming calls, unfortunately, other prices do not change. Thus, you can communicate with loved ones completely free of charge, since calls to the peninsula are free of charge. This service from Tele2 makes mobile communications in the republic area much cheaper.

For each activation of the service you need to pay 30 rubles, subscriber. the option fee is 6 rubles. per day.

Service management:

  • to connect, dial the combination *143*61# and call;
  • for the reverse operation use the code *143*60#;
  • check the status *143*6#.

Service “Zero Everywhere”

Cancels charges for incoming calls when traveling within the Russian Federation. The cost of outgoing calls to all Russian numbers will be 2 rubles. per minute of communication. This option costs 3 rubles/day and is valid throughout the country, except for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. When traveling to the peninsula, it makes no sense to activate this service; upon arrival on vacation, it will not work.

Tariffing of other operators

For comparison, we will provide a table of the cost of services of other communication providers in the Crimea.

**- To use the Internet, you must subscribe to the “Super Bit Smart” service, which gives 3 gigabytes of traffic per month for 10 rubles. in a day.

The table shows that the most favorable Internet tariffs are provided by Tele2 and Beeline, both with and without a special option. Making calls in the region is more profitable for MTS subscribers with the Guest tariff; without it, Beeline will be the most economical.

Tele2 charges calls from the 3rd second of a conversation, and Beeline counts the entire first minute of communication. The most profitable SMS are from Megafon and MTS.

Only MTS does not have a subscription fee or the cost of connecting additional services. Operators Beeline and Yota decided not to provide their subscribers with discounts and promotions when traveling to the peninsula.

Local operators

Regional cellular providers operate on the peninsula. They offer services at their own rates.

  1. Volna provides TP "Sea":

  • Mandatory payment 150 rub. per month;
  • 300 minutes for all operators within the peninsula and Krasnodar region;
  • in Russia 3 rubles. per minute, free incoming.

For online communication, the “Wind” tariff is provided - 10 GB for 300 rubles.

  1. Win Mobile provides a contract for vacationers - “At Sea”:

  • free inbox;
  • outgoing to all numbers in Russia 3 rubles/min;
  • 10 rub. for 100 megabytes of traffic.

For the modem there is a “Fast and Furious” tariff: 15 gigabytes of Internet for 400 rubles.

  • the first 30 minutes within the network are free, a minute of outgoing calls within Russia is 5 rubles;
  • SMS 1.5 rub. along the peninsula and 2 r. in the Russian Federation;
  • 200 rub. for 10 gigabytes of Internet at high speed.

Conclusion

This season, Tele2 and MTS received quite acceptable reception on the peninsula, which was not observed with other Russian cellular service providers. You can top up your Tele2 balance in the republic by bank transfer. The operator does not support electronic refill terminals, and there are no official points of sale. You can top up your account through banking systems or electronic wallets. You can use the promised payment option. Transferring money to a mobile account is carried out in any form convenient for you, but only in electronic format.

Crimea is a wonderful place not only for a summer holiday on the Black Sea coast. The peninsula contains picturesque places and beautiful cultural sites that are worth seeing. But in view of recent events, many are asking the question: “Which cellular operators work in Crimea and how are things going with telephone conversations and the Internet from the Big Three?”

We will analyze each operator available on the peninsula separately and in more detail, so that everyone can decide for themselves: take a SIM card with a convenient tariff from their favorite provider or take care of changing it in advance.

Megaphone

From Megafon it allows you to connect a special option “Crimea” (incompatible with the “Around the World” tariff plan). It is valid throughout the entire Crimean Peninsula and in the surrounding area, provided that the subscriber is in the cellular network of the mobile provider K-Telecom, that is, with the WIN MegaFon identifier on the screen of your gadget. In order to find out what cellular communication works in Crimea and specifically on your phone, you need to go to the gadget settings and in the menu items responsible for reception, select “select current provider” (menu branches may differ depending on the operating system).

Naturally, the “Crimea” option cannot be used for ordinary calls to numbers of Ukrainian telecom operators. In this case, calls will be billed at the standard roaming rate: 35 rubles per minute of conversation and 6 rubles per sent short message.

Reviews and prices

The feedback from Megafon is not very good: many are not satisfied with the spotty coverage: the signal seems to be good, but while you walk the same 100 meters, the connection will either disappear or appear, and so on throughout the entire peninsula. And “Personal Account” is very reluctant (for some reason) to change services and tariffs from one to another.

The prices from the company are not very encouraging: 10 rubles per megabyte of traffic is too expensive. And judging by the type of cellular communication in Crimea from Megafon (frequent interruptions, delays and high cost), it is better to take a closer look at a more loyal operator. Nevertheless, the company promises to soon “fix” all the critical shortcomings, but ardent fans of the “green” can only wait patiently.

"Beeline"

Cellular communications in Crimea from Beeline are provided on the basis of the same K-Telecom network as part of intranet roaming. Last year, the company launched the “Goodbye Roaming” campaign for “All for...” tariff plans, thanks to which roaming was disabled throughout the Russian Federation. But there is one catch: the Kamchatka region, together with the Crimean peninsula, are included in the list of exceptions, so in these territories normal intranet roaming operates at standard tariffs.

But fans should not be disappointed - for all those who like to travel around Russia, and Crimea in particular, there is a special option - “My Country”, which, judging by the reviews, can quite compete with other providers.

Cellular communications in Crimea with the “My Country” option are provided under the following conditions:

  • connection - 25 rubles (one-time payment);
  • 3 rubles per minute of incoming call for the first minute, subsequent time is not charged (free);
  • 3 rubles per minute of outgoing call with per-minute billing;
  • 3 rubles for outgoing short message;
  • incoming SMS - free;
  • There is no subscription fee.

Just like other cellular operators in Crimea, Beeline provides the “Personal Account” service, where you can easily enable or disable this option. You can also call the call center support center at 0611 if you have any difficulties with your “Personal Account”.

Internet

For fans of the World Wide Web, the company offers two options to choose from - “Planet of the Internet” and “The most profitable Internet in roaming” with prepaid and postpaid, respectively. Both tariffs do not require any manipulation in the same “Personal Account” (activation/deactivation) and are connected when the device is roaming. The price of a standard 30 MB package will cost 150 rubles; after exceeding the traffic limit, you will have to buy additional megabytes at 5 rubles per unit.

If cellular communications in Crimea are used mainly for surfing, then it makes sense to connect to the “Internet Roaming Week” service, where 300 MB of traffic is provided for seven days. If you were unable to meet the weekly deadline and ran out of traffic earlier, then the cost of each subsequent megabyte will have to be paid at 5 rubles per 1 MB.

User opinions

User reviews about the Crimean Beeline are twofold: it seems comfortable to talk, and the tariffs are more or less acceptable, but the Internet very often freezes, lags and generally behaves somehow strangely, and such a “bouquet” can be obtained even while sitting under a tower operator, which is very strange. Nevertheless, there are a lot of Beeline fans and users on the peninsula, but the company is still inferior in popularity to the next respondent.

Crimea, cellular communications: MTS

Owners of SIM cards from MTS, when they enter, are automatically transferred to the home roaming zone, which entails a significant increase in communication prices. For such cases, the company actively advertises a very interesting service “Everywhere at home.” The main and extremely useful advantage of this service is free incoming calls from any Russian region. The outgoing minute tariff in this case will be 3 rubles. For connection you will have to pay 30 rubles once and pay daily depending on the location of the main SIM card (for example, Moscow - 7 rubles/day).

It is worth noting separately that the service is not automatically disabled, even when the subscriber returns to his home region. You can remove the service by using your “Personal Account” or by sending a short message to number 111 with the text 3333 (USSD request - *111*3333#).

Also, for those who receive incoming calls more often than outgoing ones, it would be useful to familiarize yourself with the “One Country” option, where, by analogy with “Everywhere at home,” incoming calls are not charged, but, unlike the latter, it is possible to work with all tariff plans, and this, judging by user reviews, is a significant plus. You can activate the service by dialing *808# or USSD combination - *111*808#.

Access to the Internet

As for the tariffs for mobile Internet, judging by the numerous laudatory reviews, they are the most “delicious” here. It is enough to use the convenient service “SuperBIT”, which operates throughout Russia. Instead of any daily surfing limits, the company offers a 3GB monthly package. The price tag may vary slightly and depends on the home region of the SIM card: Moscow - 350 rubles/month, and regions - about 200 rubles/month. You can activate the option using the combination *628#. Before performing any actions to connect, be sure to check which cellular operator in Crimea is currently available to you, so that there are no misunderstandings later.

Summarizing

In terms of mobile communications, the Crimean Peninsula still stands apart. Moreover, even the Big Three are forced to fulfill their obligations to subscribers through the Crimean provider WinMobile.

As company representatives explain, they are simply afraid of sanctions from the European Union: if a domestic Russian network “enters” the territory of the Crimean Peninsula, this is fraught with significant losses and significant fines. Therefore, until the boom around Crimea subsides and the corresponding amendments are adopted, there can be no talk of high-quality and affordable communications.

Nevertheless, the “troika” promises to resolve the situation by next season and provide its clients with accessible, and most importantly, high-quality communications, so that the residents of our huge country can take full advantage of all the advantages and benefits of civilization. We hope that this will be the case.

Crimea and Sevastopol are regions in which roaming operates. Tariffing on their territory differs from prices for cellular communications in other cities of Russia. The Megafon operator offers subscribers the Crimea service, which is convenient and profitable to use on the peninsula. Below we will describe it in detail, talk about the connection and capabilities of this function.

Option “Crimea” from Megafon. Description

Note! The service does not apply to calls to Ukraine. When dialing a Ukrainian number, the payment will be 35 rubles per 1 minute, and sending one message will cost 5.95 rubles.

The “Crimea” service is active only in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. If the subscriber installed it in another region, the payment system will not change. The time of use is not limited. The service is valid until the subscriber himself disables it.

“Crimea” is compatible with the “All Russia” roaming options. The only option that the service does not work with is “Around the World”.

The option also does not work when sending SMS messages to numbers of operators and providers of various entertainment services.

In the Republic of Crimea, mobile companies operate differently than in other regions of Russia. This is most likely due to the sanctions facing cellular companies. Mobile Internet in Crimea operates through local cellular companies “Win mobile” - Beeline, Megafon, Tele2 work through it; "Volna Mobile" - MTS works with it; Krymtelecom does not provide services in the city of Sevastopol; “SevMobile” operates exclusively within Sevastopol. But all mobile operators in Crimea have their own characteristics, let’s look at them.

Crimeanmobile operators

If mobile Internet is vital for you, and your stay in the region promises to be long: you simply need to use the services of one of the local companies.

Let's take a closer look at what conditions they offer in this area:

  • The mobile operator “Winmbile” has a special “Forsazh” tariff for the Internet for 400 rubles. per month - 15 GB of traffic;
  • The Volna Mobile company also has a special tariff “Wind”, its cost is 300 rubles. per month for 10 GB of traffic;
  • You can activate an additional Internet service from the Krymtelecom operator for 200 rubles. per month for 10 GB of traffic, it is important to know that this operator does not operate in Sevastopol;
  • The mobile operator SevMobile has an Internet option costing 300 rubles. for 10 GB of traffic, besides, this operator does not work well outside the city of Sevastopol.

MTS in Crimea

The MTS company operates on the territory of the peninsula, although it belongs to the Krasnodar Territory region. There are two options: the first is to buy a SIM card directly in Crimea; the second is to use a card purchased in your home region. When purchasing a SIM card in Crimea, you must select one of the Smart tariffs; all of them have a package of Internet services.

  • Smartmini 1 GB 350 rub. per month;
  • Smart 5 GB 500 rub. per month;
  • Smartb unlimited 10 GB 550 rub. per month;
  • Smart + 7 GB 250 rub. in Week.

ImportantRemember that on the territory of the peninsula you can buy a SIM card only in large cities, and even there there are not many cellular phone stores there.

For the Internet, it is recommended to activate the “SuperBIT” service, it will help reduce costs.
When using a SIM card from your home region with any Smart tariff (except mini), 15 rubles are debited. per day as a subscription fee. At the same time, the Internet package remains the same as in the home region.

Beeline, Megafon and Tele2 in Crimea

Mobile operators Beeline, Megafon and Tele2 do not officially operate in Crimea, their SIM cards are not sold, and the tariffs and options that apply in other regions of Russia do not work. Their subscribers are subject to intranet roaming. All this significantly increases the cost of mobile communications. Although Megafon and Tele2 have special options for Crimea, this only slightly improves the situation.

Regarding the Beeline company, it should be noted that the option “7 (or 30) days of Internet for traveling around Russia” does not work in Crimea. The “My Country” service is also not available on the peninsula. The price for using the Internet depends on the tariff chosen in your region.

Eg:

  • For tariffs “All for 500 (800; 1200; 1800)” 3 rubles. for 1 MB;
  • For the “All for 300” tariff it is more expensive than 9.95 rubles.

In the Megafon company, the cost of 1 mg when located on the territory of the republic is 9.90 rubles. When the “Crimea” option is activated, 1 mg costs 5 rubles, but 15 rubles are charged. per day.

The Tele2 company has a special service “Like home in Crimea,” but it does not affect the cost of mobile Internet in any way, but only removes the fee for incoming calls. In any case, the cost for 1 MB is 5 rubles. If you stay in the region for a long time, using the services of these companies is not advisable.
