Samsung Galaxy S3 sees the computer. Why doesn't the computer see the Samsung Galaxy phone via USB? What do we need

The computer does not see the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 is my smart phone. I also encountered the fact that at first everything was fine, but later the computer (Window 7) did not start creating it. Everything is fine with the cable - both the computer and the phone beep when turned on, but there are no icons. I went online to look for a solution, but couldn’t find one that suited me. I went to my daughter’s next room, turned it on her laptop - everything works. The computer automatically found a new device and everything turned on. This gave me a hint THE WAY TO SOLVING THE PROBLEM:

Enable USB Debugging Mode in Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4 3

1 - connect the phone to the computer.

2 - ON THE COMPUTER, go to All Control Panel Elements - System - System Characteristics - Device Manager (the path may certainly differ, I don’t know, the final goal is to open the DEVICE MANAGER)

3 - the phone must be connected for the computer to see it (see point 4)

4 - in the long list of devices you will see Portable Devices and your phone/phone will be there.

way 1 (it didn’t work for me) - right-click on the device, click update drivers - in theory, the system should automatically find the drivers, update them and the computer will see the phone, but for some reason everything is stuck for me :)

that's why I chose.

way 2 - also right-click on your own device and select DELETE - after that the computer will completely forget that you plugged the phone into it.

Then everything is very simple - take out the USB from the computer and insert it again - and WOW-LA! The computer (like the first time) automatically detects a new device and automatically reinstalls all the necessary firewood for it again.

Oh, here’s the aspect: I have two Windows 7x32 and 7x64, so I decided on 7x64 and updated the firewood, which I don’t understand ((

I connected the phone, and as usual it started charging and the PC doesn’t see it. Without disconnecting the UBS cord, I reboot the phone. I turn it on and in Windows a notification appears that the USB Mobile Samsung drivers are supposedly denied, in the same window I go into the options and set the permissions so that I can download the drivers myself through Windows Update, I re-insert the cord, it finds the drivers, downloads it, installs it and OP! =)

I had a similar problem, I tried all the ports, it worked only through one and then only in removable disk mode, I wouldn’t be surprised if you have Windows 7)

It's no secret that the Samsung Galaxy has a microSD card slot for expanding storage. However, some users still additionally transfer images, music and videos to their computer or laptop. But what to do if the computer does not see the Samsung Galaxy via USB?

Firstly, to recognize a smartphone like the Galaxy S, your computer needs all the necessary drivers. Usually, when a device is connected to a computer, it will immediately find it, but if the necessary drivers are not installed, this may not happen.

Drivers are special programs that help establish interaction between the phone and the computer. Most often they can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. If your computer does not recognize your Galaxy S7, immediately head to the Samsung website and download drivers. Here is the link for Galaxy S7/Edge. Mac owners will have to install in order for your Mac to communicate with your phone.

There is an alternative: you can simply download and install the program on your computer, thus making file sharing easier. It comes with all the necessary drivers, so after installation you can rest assured that the computer will recognize your device and file sharing will no longer be a problem.

Those Windows users who have just installed drivers for Samsung may find themselves having to uninstall the device before it is detected. You need to follow these steps:

  1. Hold the button Windows and press R to call the command "Run."
  2. Type “ devmgmt. msc" and press " Enter“.
  3. Select “ Other devices" or " Portable devices”.
  4. If the list contains “ SAMSUNG_ Android" or " Unknown device” with a yellow icon (!), right-click and select “ Uninstall “.
  5. Right-click on the window " device Manager" and select " Scan for hardware changes“.

In principle, after installing the necessary drivers or programs, everything should work. But if the problem is not that the device is not recognized by the computer, you need to look for another method.

More details in the video:

So, what to do if you have installed the drivers, but the computer still does not see the Samsung Galaxy?

Firstly, “does not see” is not the same as “does not recognize”. Therefore, we always ask readers to describe the problem as accurately as possible in order to provide the most appropriate solution. Here, for example, is one of the “confusing” messages on this topic...

“I can no longer transfer photos to my computer because it doesn’t recognize the device. I don’t know what I did or didn’t do, but before that the computer immediately recognized the phone and I immediately dumped files and photos. And now he just doesn’t see him. I connect the phone, but it doesn’t see it. Youyou canhelpto me

You see, first our reader uses the term “recognize”, and then writes that “the computer does not see it,” that is, the computer “does not detect” the connected device. In this case, you should try to correct the fact that the computer does not see the Samsung phone. What I can recommend is to change the USB connection. And here's how...

Why doesn't the computer see Samsung Galaxy via USB?

If the computer does not see the Samsung Galaxy when connected using the included USB cable, then you will have to troubleshoot problems in the computer itself. If you know that other computers can see the phone, the problem may be with the USB port.

If this is not the problem, then the problem may be with the cable or the port for charging the phone has become loose. Taking all this into account, here are a few steps to help fix this problem:

Step 1: Connect your phone to other USB ports on your computer

Simply connect your phone to your computer with a charging or data cable. If your phone remains invisible, try connecting it to a different port. Try one port at a time to see if this is the problem.

Step 2: Restart your computer if no USB ports work

There is also a chance that your computer has system problems that are preventing it from detecting connected devices. While we don't know for sure whether this is a problem, it's worth restarting your computer and seeing if it works. If the problem remains after a reboot, it means that something is wrong not with the computer, but with the cable or phone.

Still, I advise you to try other devices, such as a flash drive that connects via a USB port. If the computer sees all devices except the phone, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Make sure the USB cable is not damaged

By inspecting the cable, you can check for visible damage. If you don't see any, try charging your phone with it. Inside the cable there are wires responsible for both charging and data transfer.

By charging your phone with it, you can understand whether it works or not. If there is damage, the phone may not charge, especially if some wire has come loose.

Another way to check is to use a different cable. If the phone works with it, then the original cable is simply broken. If this is really the problem, then you need to replace the old cable with a working one.

Step 4: Make sure to connect the device as "storage device"

This is very important since phones are mostly connected to a computer to recharge. If so, then the computer may not see it, since data transfer is temporarily unavailable. Go to notifications and see if there is a selection icon for USB. If yes, then consider the problem already solved.

All you need to do is click on it and select “Data storage device”. If this is the first connection, then installing the drivers will take some time. But if you don’t have such an icon, try this:

  1. Disconnect USB from Samsung.
  2. Turn off your phone.
  3. Wait 20 seconds.
  4. Turn it on.
  5. Connect the cable again.
  6. Check to see if the options icon appears.

If it's not there, go to the next step.

Step 5: Check the charger socket

At a minimum, you need two cables to figure out if there is a problem with it. If your computer still doesn't see Samsung, it's time to check the charger port.

The connection may not be able to be established, or some debris, fiber, or dust may have gotten into the connector. A stream of compressed air will help get rid of the latter, but if the connection is loosened, you need to move on.

If the contacts of the charging socket are in order and there is no dirt, connect the cable and check if the contact has come loose. If the cable fits in properly and the connection is not interrupted when it moves, then everything is fine.

Otherwise, you will have to purchase a cable that fits perfectly under the port. If a new cable does not help, then your device has much more serious problems.

Step 3: Reset your phone if the problem persists after installing KIES or Smart Switch

The second step is aimed at solving the problem with the drivers, but if this does not help, you need to back up all files and information and reset the settings to a working state.

  1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy.
  2. Press and hold the Home, Volume Up, and Power buttons
  3. When Samsung Galaxy appears on the screen, release "Power" but continue to hold the remaining two.
  4. When the Android logo appears, release all buttons and wait 30-60 seconds.
  5. Using the Volume Down button, toggle between options and select 'wipe data / factory reset.'
  6. Click "Power" to confirm.
  7. Then select ‘Yes - delete all user data’ using Volume Down and confirm by pressing Power.
  8. Wait until the process is completed. Then select ‘Reboot system now’ and click “Power”.
  9. The phone will take a little longer to reboot than usual.

If after this the problem is not solved, the help of a specialist is required. I hope this instruction will help you in one way or another. If you feel you need further assistance, please contact us.

Connect Samsung Galaxy S3 to computer via cable

Progress is moving forward by leaps and bounds, and with the advent of electronic gadgets available to everyone, this process has become irreversible. Touch screens, intuitive interfaces and wide functionality allow tablets and smartphones to be used in literally any area of human activity, and not just as a means of communication and entertainment.

True, despite such a leap forward, some users still experience difficulties connecting mobile devices to computers. As an example, let's try connecting the Samsung Galaxy S3 to a computer.

Quick navigation through the article

Normal connection

We take a USB cable, connect it to the smartphone and to the computer, then go to the Samsung settings, where we select the “Connect to PC via USB” item, and then check the box for the device type as MTP.

In this mode, you can freely interact with media files, and most users don’t need more.

Standard protocols

The developers, in principle, did not imagine that someone would need to use their brainchild as a regular flash drive, transferring their files and documents to it. Therefore, you won’t be able to connect your Samsung Galaxy to your computer as a removable storage device. Initially, only the following protocols are available:

  • PTP - use the gadget as a regular digital camera with corresponding restrictions on editing files.
  • MTP - use as a multimedia device that cannot work with documents and special files not related to video and audio.

How to set up Internet on a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone

We all know that modern smartphones can only be fully used if you have access to the Internet. This is especially true for such top-end phones as the Samsung Galaxy S3. This smartphone operates using the Android operating system version 4.0.4. It would be irrational to use such a device only for calls.

The gadget will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of the Internet anywhere. Wide doors open to the user on social networks. In order to take advantage of using your smartphone, you first need to configure it properly. You can connect to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection, or 3G, the ability to connect to which can be requested from any mobile operator.

Wi-Fi Settings

This instruction will help users figure out how to properly connect to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection. The ability to access the Internet is only possible within the Wi-Fi coverage area. Every month this network is expanding and there are more and more access points. In European countries, Wi-Fi has already become commonplace. Let's proceed directly to the settings.

We find the “Applications” item, which can be found in the lower right corner. Then click the “Settings” button. Now you need to go to the “Wireless” category. You also need to check if the Wi-Fi function is activated. If not, then it's easy enough to enable it. From the list of access points, select the one we need. If you don’t see the point you need in the list, you need to add it manually. To do this, go to the “Add Wi-Fi network” item. You need to know the password to access the network. There are also free hotspots, and you do not need to enter a password for them. Now you can safely use your smartphone with many additional features that the Samsung Galaxy S3 provides.

3G Internet settings

3G is a good option for those who do not have the constant ability to be within range of a Wi-Fi network. It would be best to connect to an operator for unlimited Internet. Traffic tariffs require constant monitoring of funds in the account. Therefore, you won’t download a lot of videos and music. This option is good for those who just want to use applications and view email.

To start setting the settings, you need to go to the menu and in the settings find the “additional settings” column. Then go to the “mobile networks” item. Here you need to activate the “mobile data” option.

Now it will configure the access point. In the same “mobile networks” item, you need to select the “access points” tab. Here we will create a new access point. Usually there is already an account in the list of points. In this case, just activate it for her. Otherwise, we will enter the data manually. All required data can be requested from your mobile operator or.

But pay attention to what the operator wants to send you. It is not advisable to use expensive WAP Internet (your money will disappear at the speed of light). The main thing is to be careful and choose the right tariff wisely.

It would be optimal to use more than just one connection. For example, you can use Wi-Fi at home, and a 3G connection outside. This will save you money. Also, don't hesitate to use the free Wi-Fi. Using 3G is not very economical, but you can access the Internet anywhere.

If you can't set up the Internet, you may have done something wrong. Try again to do everything more carefully.
